I made a favorite playlist of songs from different genres, put it on random, and I added a full album to it. Is there a way to make the playlist see the album as one track so when it triggers it only does so as the album and not the individual tracks?

Select the tracks from the album > Edit > Under the settings tab there's a setting "keep tracks in sequence when shuffling" which should do what you want.
