Title: Should I Continue?
Post by: LittleReg1 on November 10, 2021, 03:45:01 AM
Trying to get away from MediaMonkey because of the massive problems it has transferring files.  I spent 15 hours in the MusicBee sync only to learn after the whole thing was over that of 60+K files, over 17K had "errors".  I have read the posts asking me to find previous posts and all that, and I know that there are specifics involved with my particular situation, but the fact is that there is no way the user should be able to do anything that causes the sync process to fail.  Nothing.  I don't have the time to go through all this, nor should I have to.

My network sees my Android phone just fine.  MusicBee sees my phone.  The handshake is flawless.  All of my files are present in the application (in Win10) and properly staged.  With very few exceptions, they are all properly configured.  This should be a matter of clicking a button and letting it fly, but unfortunately, just like MediaMonkey, the architects of MusicBee do not seem to understand the behind-the-scenes issues that cause these problems.

It is unfair and unrealistic to ask your customers to troubleshoot your products for you for free.  I realize that the version of the software I'm using is the free version, but I don't want free software - I want to pay for it.  Therefore, I issue you this challenge:  create a bug-free product and I will pay you $200 for it.  If you think I'm joking, then call my bluff.  Believe me, I am this desperate to find an application that I can trust and that works with a Samsung Galaxy phone and Android Auto.  Ever since iTunes left the building, its alleged replacements haven't measured up.  (BTW, I issued the same challenge to Apple and they refused.)

Ready when you are!

1- There are no "architects" of MB. There is only one developer, who does this as a hobby in his spare time.
2- The software is free. The developer will not take a "pay off" to create something special. I don't speak for the developer, but this has been discussed before.
3- All software - free or paid, operating systems or applications, brand new version 1 or mature - has bugs. There is no such thing as bug-free software.
4- The developer of MB is not asking his users to troubleshoot anything for him.
5- I've been using MB since version 0.3 (10+ years) and have been syncing with a Samsung Galaxy for the past five and for the most part there are no issues.
6- I am truly amazed, no SHOCKED, that Apple wouldn't take you up on your offer to pay them $200.
7- Since you fail to mention anything about what specific issues you're having with syncing, no error logs, no details, no nothing, I can only assume you came here to troll.
8- Since you "don't have the time to go through all this" I suggest you keep looking for something that fits your needs and works without bugs. I imagine you'll be looking for quite some time.

In short, the answer to the question you raised in the subject of your post is a definitive no.

Oh man this one is classic.

Use the $200 to get a phone that works.
