Title: Play Count and Inbox
Post by: FuzzyLogic on October 17, 2021, 07:48:17 PM
When I rip CDs they go to the inbox. I listen to them and verify the tags as well as applying a rating before they are moved to the library.

It seems the play count is not being updated unless the CDs are in the library. Is there a setting somewhere that will update the play count when playing music in the Inbox?

I would think that's working as intended. Play counts don't get added until the track is in the library.

You can manually add the play count by selecting the track(s) in the Tag Editor > Properties > play count.

Just to add to this. I've ripped a CD in MusicBee, listened to it while in the inbox. When I look at one of the songs' properties the Play Count is 1. Once I've moved it from the inbox to the library and select the CD and play I see the artist bio and it says [No plays]. Seems something isn't quite right.

Looks like we'll have to wait for Steven to provide the definitive answer.
