Title: Hotkeys For Every Function
Post by: Mr.man1093 on September 23, 2021, 04:51:53 AM
I use the EBU R128 plugin which allows me to scan a track's DR and even average multiple tracks' DR for an album DR. The problem I'm having is that it is a buggy plugin that doesn't let you scan your entire library at once like you can with replay gain. Because of this, I have to manually select 20-50 tracks then right click and move my mouse down to the bottom of the menu, hover over EBU R128, then click tag. Averaging multiple tracks' DR is the same process. I would imagine that many other plugins would benefit from being able to set a hotkey for every single function, similar to how you can on foobar2000. With foobar2000, I can set a hotkey for every function and the list (of functions) is separated by the context menu or by the plugin that the function belongs to.

I think hotkeys need to be provided by the plug-in developer, so if that is no longer being developed you might be out of luck.
It looks like the code has been made available so someone else might pick it up and continue it.

The same caveat would apply to adding hotkeys to functions in other plugins too.

On the other hand, MusicBee has been using the R128 algorithm for volume analysis for years:

Does this plugin provide something more than just volume analysis that you need to keep using it?

I use the plugin for its ability to analyze a track's dynamic range and write it into the tags of the file. It can also average the DR between multiple files such as when finding the DR of an album.  For volume analysis I use MusicBee's built in volume analyzer.
