Title: AMOLED Black (Chameleon)
Post by: Grindle on August 20, 2021, 04:02:00 AM
A pure black skin created with the Chameleon DNA skinning tool

Design guidelines of this skin:
Make as many elements as possible #000000 without sacrificing vital graphic feedback
Intuitively utilize a soothing set of standard white values

I would seriously like to thank the creator of Chameleon DNA (https://bit.ly/Chameleon_DNA_forum_thread) on behalf of the public for his incredible tool

After seeing how intuitively designed it is, it's clear that he has a great creative passion or is simply a genius

Also you saved my desktop layout (https://i.imgur.com/h3Z8MyE.png)

To the reader: I would like to request details regarding the skinning of these bars (https://i.imgur.com/WFN6ywN.png) used for resizing columns in the main panel. I don't consider them a vital graphic element so I would like to remove them, thanks (also seen in the top right in the Upcoming Tracks panel).

Congratulations on being the very first one that created and shares a skin using Chameleon DNA!
Nice work. Now I will have to buy an OLED monitor ;-)

I don't fully agree that the dividing borders in the header bar aren't vital.
Most users will probably want to see where they can drag to resize the widths of the columns.
Experienced MB users may be able to find it by hovering their mouse over it, but I think that won't work with a touchpad?

If you do want to make it completely invisible you can use a little trick, which is adding transparency to the element:
Edit:  Content[TrackDetail].Body.ListHeader"  bdr="0,0,0,0"

Thank you so much for your comment and help.

What I mean by "vital" is that the graphical element is necessary to understand the program.
For example, I retained the selection highlights in the Column Browser panel because the display is recursive and is illogical without knowing the upper levels of selection.
I also wanted to hide the scrollbars completely but I concluded that knowing the current position in the list is vital—on second thought I'd like to hide the arrows (help pls), which most modern systems do these days.

If anything I want to apologize for sharing this through your Chameleon DNA project because this skin obviously doesn't do it justice.
As you probably could guess I just threw this together in a very short time to fit my current desktop aesthetics.

What that said, I am definitely planning on coming back later and making a nice skin in the future. Especially since I've realized that MusicBee is an incredible program.

About the scrollbar arrows, navigate to:
element id="ScrollbarNoArrows"
and activate it by uncommenting it. (by removing the surrounding  <!--   -->  )

Btw, for general questions and suggestions on skinning it would be better to use the dedicated skinning board:

Thank you so much for this skin.  I usually run Musicbee on my desktop, but I have a few 12" Samsung windows tablets (TabPro S and Galaxy Book) and I tried to get musicbee routine on there, but they are old with weak batteries.

Once you go OLED, you can't go back.  I just got a refurbed Lenovo X1 Yoga Gen 2 which has a 14" HiDPI OLED screen, not very bright but again, battery life sucks with OLED so this skin is very much needed.

I'll be commuting 10+ hours a week on a train with this machine and some fancy head-fi to keep me occupied and Musicbee is vital.
