i'll answer some of this now and the rest another timeThanks, Steven. You do a great job.
Sometimes in MB two or more strings actually represent a single sentence, for instance, something like: 'Save file to' and as a one of the options 'library' - that is 'Save file to library'. Such strings may be even not located next to each other in dialog, but they are the single sentence. Please confirm that strings below are completed sentences and not used in conjunction with other strings or give me full sentences.they are 2 separate options - this one is a little harder for you to see because it requires mini-lyrics to be installed
!Sys.ctl.BCC52548# same folder and name as the music file
!Sys.ctl.D6F99DA9# specific folder:
!tTag.msg.disambiguat# disambiguationits a column header - its not easy to test as it requires choosing an artist where multiple artists have part of the same name. In the tag editor enter the artist name as "Smith" and click auto-tag (make sure analyse digital sound signature in that drop-down is not enabled). It should display then
Is it a column header? And it would be great if you can give instructions how to view this in MB.
Houston, we have a problem!all should be fixed apart from 3
!Sys.ctl.BCC52548# same folder and name as the music fileStill cant understand what text precedes strings 'same folder and name as the music file' and 'specific folder:'. May be its easier for you just to post a screenshot?

9 - can you reconfirm - it works ok for me on the test german file. Perhaps you edited the english text line starting with the !Steven, sorry. It seems that I just didn't update .lng file used by MB. MB can't use .lng file opened in Word so I have 2 copies of file.
See Artwork layout, right click on the main panel header bar/ Group by/ <untranslated Album>, <untranslated Artist>, <untranslated Composer>. If you choose group by album, text <untranslated ‘albums by’ translated ‘album artist’> is shown in panel header.i have the same and will fix that
!Main.menu.Folder...# Folder...on clicking the Folder... (which is a context menu item), it will open the standard windows "Open Folder" dialog
when downloading files, right click/ Download To/ Folder...
on clicking you can select a folder to download to
Can’t find this. If I right click on a link in internal MB browser I see ‘Download’ only (can’t understand where file is downloaded to). But context is clear. Only one question: what items may be shown next to ‘Folder…’ in ‘Download to’ submenu (I need to check translation of these strings)?
!Main.menu.PlDo# Playlist Dockyou are right - its actually when you have the Now Playing List docked in the main panel and you right click on header bar (but the idea and the sub-menus are the same as the Now Playing List menu
right click on the now playing panel/ Configure Layout/ Playlist Dock
Can’t find this. I see ‘Now Playing List’ submenu instead.
Yes, I guessed. But the question remains: what items may be shown next to ‘Folder…’ item in ‘Download to’ submenu (I need to check translation of these strings)?!Main.menu.Folder...# Folder...on clicking the Folder... its not clear to me what you want me to do with this. Can you do some sort of compromise translation?
eg. instead of
delete the {0}? eg .delete the 10 selected files?
{0} - delete?
10 selected files - delete?
33. it was a bug and is fixed now - sorry about the wasted timeNo problem, just wanted to warn other translators.
40. i cant find where you mean - can you give me some more info?Tools/Organize files (and 2 other file organizers too): hover mouse over text 'file naming presets' or 'except when'.
i will answer the remaining strings from the top laterThanks in advance.
It seems like the 'Yes' string appearing in the Global column (hotkeys preferences) is not localized.ok for me - check you are using which is in the incremental updates file (3-may section)
AI1 - What about the column headers in the DSP Plugins section of the EQ? (name - description - file).See my previous post. Issue #43.
AI2 - And also the 'Native' string characterizing MB's built-in Stereo Enhancer pluginLet it be issue #53.
AI3 - The value of the 'Lyrics?' tag doesn't seem to be localized (e.g. 'Y [synched]')Yes, tag values are not localized. Issue #54.
AI4 - Preferences-> Plugins: if you disable the last.fm plugin, a non-localized '(disabled)' string appearsIf you disable any plugin. Issue #55.
PS: is this the right place to discuss such issues also for non-russian translations?
37. are you sure you still want it in lower case? - i changed the minimise to: from a set of radio buttons to a combo-box with the items now with casingI think, yes. Although its acceptable for Russian to use capitalized form of 'Compact player' in this context, I'd like to keep .lng file structured (for now mini-player has special string in prefs and compact player doesn't).
32. ok for me - it shows only when you are shutting down after a number of minutesSteven, sorry for my English, I meant that MB doesn't use string !AutoSD.493A25AE# from .lng file, i.e. that this string is not localized.
!Main.chan.10# Duali have never seen dual actually used for mp3 files and i dont know the precise definition, so suggest you just use stereo
What’s the difference between ‘stereo’ and ‘dual’?
!Main.menu.FMiL# Find More '{0}' in Library{0} = the clicked text
What is {0}? I neen full phrase eg. {0} is “<tag name>” or “artist ‘<artist tag value>’”.
ts the text of what was clicked on, so if you click on an artist name, its the artist name
May be it would be convenient for users to use tag name also like in command “Play {0} ’{1}’ Now”?
43-67 all doneNot fixed issues: 53, 54, 68, 56, 48.A, 49, 52.
53-55 are missing from the listI redefined their numbers in this post (http://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=3408.msg18190#msg18190), sorry.
its ok for meSteven,
perhaps you dont have the items included in the language file you selected?

my fault with the file i uploadedOk! It's working now :)
replace:
change ' to ! for the text: "' artwork panel eg. Albums by Genre/ Year"
also B-72, any of - i can see thats not translated but your description of the problem doesnt seem to be saying that, so can you confirm thats what you meant. You might need to provide some more details of what you meanNo, its translated (using translated word 'in' (eg. 'album in 1,2,3') - I'm not sure if its intended). Try 'any of' 'Decade' (may be something else, not sure). By the way: what is delimiter for condition 'any of' - neither space nor ',' doesn't work for me (i.e. no albums found for condition 'any of', list of albums).
67 - both should be fineI've just suggested about '# years', sorry.
#Main.msg.days#
#Main.msg.Years0# No years
#Main.msg.Years1# 1 year
#Main.msg.Years9# {0} years
i'm not having any instances where there is no value are "in" or the translated equivalentIt seems to be a bug not related to localization. Restart MB, click 'new custom search', change tag name to anything, change condition to 'any of' (nor sure if its important), enter list of values, click 'OK'. Actually search is done for some unknown tag name (I think empty tag name) - no results displayed. Open new custom search window and change tag value to another. click 'OK' - search is done for tag name entered first time.
if you mean "d" as an abbreiviation for days then i have just found and included that nowYes, thats what I mean.
New issues:i can easily do b73 but its getting to the point now where i am spending a lot of time on this for doing things that unlikely to be encountered or what is meant should be easily figured out by someone not familiar with english.
B73. String ‘Random #’ (pseudo-tag name) in all file naming templates is not localized.
B74. Decades are not localized (eg. ‘1980s’).
So unless its something you consider important i will leave this for now and move onto sorting out the layout.I'm just reporting issues. I don't insist that you must resolve all issues immediately, just let me know if some issue is fixed or you are not planning to fix it, or will be fixed in next update or will be fixed sometimes later (i.e. you track the issue, but have no time to fix it now).
I've done what i believe are the missing items and will post an update later but it is getting quite confusing now with the numbering in some casesIf you mean numbering of issues then you can use my numbering (i.e. simply remove prefix 'B' from my posts) - at this moment my posts take into account all known issues, but I think every translator should maintain own numbering in future using prefixes like 'AI' (for andrea.ippo) and 'B' (for me), and should not duplicate already known issues.
boroda74, the now playing assistant button override. All your reported layout issues should be ok nowSteven, thank you. Layout handling is perfect now for my translation, but one bug found: play some track from music library, then pause it. Go to podcasts catalog, select one of podcasts, click 'Play' button - tack from music library is resumed (I expected that podcast is played in this situation). And related issue: click 'Stop' button now and 'Play' button becomes non-localized.
New issue #B76: Track auto-tagger window/update tags from Last.fm cloud/click ‘matches…’ for one of 2 custom tags: ‘Tags’ in window title and in blue comment text is not localized.i the language file i have you havent localised #tTag.msg.matches...#
in the language file i have you havent localised #tTag.msg.matches...#Not sure about my previous .lng, but in my current language file this string is localized and I have no problem with 'matches...' button - the problem is that the window opened after clicking this button is not fully localized: "word 'Tags' in window title and in blue comment text is not localized".
In Tools - Rip CD - Rip CD Window the text "drag artwork here or right click to paste" for artwork ist not translated.both are done for the next update
In my german translation is now enough room for all field descriptions, messages and button descriptions since last update.
Thank you Steven for your really good work on it.
One other wish is not directly affected by translation. Please make the bpm-field in tag editor a little bit wider, because some
DJ-Programs use fractional digits in this field, it's to small (eg. 127.9888).
In the preferences panel there are two cases where controls overlap text:i will fix the cd pref glitch
Preferences -> CD Ripping [Preferências -> Extracção de CD]
At least on this pc the combo box with the available ripping devices extends over the "read offset" [offset de leitura] text label that follows it.
Preferences -> Now Playing -> Notification Popup [Preferências -> Em Reprodução -> Personalizar]
On the "override popup window size:..." line I see "forçar o tamanho da janela pop-up: 300 x 300 px"
The "p" in the middle px text label is missing.
but for the popup override that is correct eg. [300] x [200] px where 'x' means 'by'Oops. Looked at it 10 times and never thought it was a times operator :)
With all the due respect, but such an editor doesn't deserve to be used in my opinion (or at least it should allow to disable such an option).I was using Word for my translation first, but after you mentioned that you use Notepad++, I also begin to use it. As it turned out Notepad++ is very convenient for such tasks.
I highly recommend Notepad++

(or at least it should allow to disable such an option).I can disable that option, but not on a per file basis and on a per project basis there are some troubles with the configuration (I've already submitted a bug report on this). Hmm, now that you mention it, there IS a way to do it, by putting the configuration inside the project. Thanks for reminding me of it :)
The latest exe does give me problems with the artist tab not being updated. (i did clean install) and the problem is still herethe screenshot you have, the artist field is blank for the playing track. In that case it doesnt update the artist tab. That behavior has been the same from the start

What about using English filenames at least for the languages concerned, but include a new (optional) tag showing the translated text for the language?Should work, but has a downside: for showing the list MusicBee has to open every file to know how to display the title. +1 from me if it's not too slow.
Should work, but has a downside: for showing the list MusicBee has to open every file to know how to display the title. +1 from me if it's not too slow.+1. I think tag with translated name of language MUST be the FIRST tag in .lng file, so it may speed up reading language names from all .lng files (i.e. MB shouldn't read every .lng completely, but only first string from each file to display localization file name/comments in native language).

having a quick look at things, i can i am going to need to make some tweaks to the system preferences handling but also some cases where i think the wording will need to be abbreviated.
Perhaps change this line:
#Main.msg.abefopv# aaaaaaaa bcccdddd eeeeeeeeeeee ffgghhhhhhiiiiiiijkllll:mmnnnnnnn oooooooo ppqrrrrrrsssssstttttttttuuu vwwxyyzxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
which will make things generally wider - its certainly not going to solve everything though
the following fields have been given the same name - when selecting a field as a criteria there is no way to distinguish them:
!Main.field.4# Kind
#Main.field.4# Genre
!Main.field.59# Genre
#Main.field.59# Genre
!Main.field.43# Composer
#Main.field.43# Compositeur
!Main.field.62# Lyricist
#Main.field.62# Compositeur
for the queue next button in the now playing assistant, in order to keep the buttons from being too big there is an override
#NPA.btn.QuNe# Queue Next
if you cant make an abbreviation let me know
1, 8 - i dont think thats resolvable for now. The predefined custom tags in the drop-down come from a configuration file, so each localisation would need its own config file. The default tag labels for Custom1..9 and Virtual1..3 i think might need to stay as-is as well but i will have a look at thatWell, not a big issue, but maybe later?
3 - its a hardcoded link to the musicbee forum - why would that be localised?I meant that menu item may be shown as a descriptive localized text (e.g. 'Visit MusicBee forum'), not that hyperlink itself should be localized :)
4,5,6,7 - thats related to shrinking down the scaling to 1.4 - I will have a look but you might need to increase it slightlyIt seems that these issues were resolved after changing scaling to 1.4 and newly introduced now. But of course I can slightly enlarge scaling.
before you adjust the width let me make some tweaks to the editor panel as i need to make some adjustments for the french translation which should benefit yours (they are just small width adjustments though)OK. Please let me know when you finish tweaks.
i have problems with latest dutch version. The buttons are too small for text (prefrences tab)you need to let me know which buttons
Also the "requird to restart" is too long and dissappears beneath the mb logo.
maybe you can make the prefrences window bigger, cause it is quite small.
things i could still see:
- can the Now Playing preferences be looked at where one checkbox in the popup notifications section needs to be abbreviated
- in the File Converters tab, the first 2 fields, could they be abbrieviated if possible
- in the Devices tab, the 2nd tab, could that be shortened? eg. remove 'options de' ?
- in the CD Ripper, is there anything that can be shortened with the 'one file per album...' - maybe remove the word embedded?
i tested using this as the first setting in the language file:
#Main.msg.abefopv# aaaaaaaa bcccdddd eeeeeeeeeeee ffgghhhhhhiiiiiiijkllll:mmnnnnnnn oooooooo ppqrrrrrrsssssstttttttttuuu vwwxyyzxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
some buttons on the set font, which is (stel lettertype in) in dutch.both are fixed for the next update
also the minimise to: is (minimaliseren naar:) which is too long text. Otherwise the new exe is better.
1) It can be reduced to 37 characters instead of 61. The last 5 still don't appearthey are done for the next update
2) Both fields can be reduced. But then the boxes next to them should be moved closer. The new translations would respectively be "encodages simultanés maximum:" and "priorité"
3)Yes. The 7 last characters can be removed
4)Do you mean in Alt+R ? If yes all fields are displayed correctly.
When you click the i in the control panel, "track information" doesn't get translated.the first is fixed
Also regarding this field #Main.msg.TrIn# the French translation is "Propriétés de la Piste" and the last "e" doesn't display correctly. Can you increase that case a little bit ?

Untranslated:for the plugins, any local settings for a plugin will remain untranslated for now. Even if i add support for translating plugin settings, it is doubtful i can get the plugin developers to add the support
. In Preferences/Plugins/ mbprocessbar. Display playing process in process bar
Displaying bugs:
. In Preferences/Library/playlists. The french translation for the sentence that begings with "map..." cannot be shortened and it doesn't display correctly. Particularly the word "à" should be between the 2 blank boxes.
. In Preferences/First Tab/Bottom Right. The "Set custom font" button is tto short for the French translation and that cannot be shortened either.
In my opinion "de" should be moved completely to the left just under "mapper". The big blank box should be next to it and "à" between the two boxesWhat about moving text 'de' to the end of '... explortees'? I think that placing 'à' between two boxes will raise a number of issues with other languages (eg. for Russian this text should be wider).
First issueboth fixed for the next update
Main panel - track detail view – rightclick – Play more… - Play title ‘…’ Now and Qeue title ‘…’ next and Queue title ‘…..’ last
The second word 'title' is in translation small case like in German “Spiele titel ‘…’ jetzt”. In German 'Titel' is written capitalized.
Second issue
Main panel - track detail view – rightclick – Send to – Folder (Move) or Folder (Copy).
In the following Popup Window is the Button ‘Select’ not in translated.
One more untranslated piece:i forgot to mention this before - the code for generating "Unknown ..." is currently shared with file re-organisation. So if someone has their library set to auto-organise it would have an impact on the existing folder organisation if i localised this.
When the year is missing for an album, "Unknown Year" is shown in [Year] [Album Title] tag below the artwork.
Steven, its a problem, because tag name in these commands should be lowercased in Russian. Maybe you can add option in .lng file for these cases?First issueboth fixed for the next update

i dont find that happening for me, however i did make a change for context menu handling with dual screens so i am guessing that has somehow had a side-effect. Could you try this one:

How to display "welcome dialog" without uninstalling MB?Just keep pressed 'shift' key when MB starts to make MB to display 'welcome dialog'.

In Japanese, they mean the same thing.
Hi
Is there complete up-to-date English file available somewhere?
When using a CAT tool it is more convenient to use single file, and updated content is no problem.
Russian translation is updated. See http://www.mediafire.com/rusmusicbee (http://www.mediafire.com/rusmusicbee)russian binary file is updated on
When I did a fresh install of MB on my friend's laptop I've noticed few items that are not (or partly) localised:for 1, i appreciate it could look at the regional settings of the computer to work out a localised dialog but i figured it was very straight forward for people to figure out how to select a language
1. The language selection window that run when MB is started for the first time:
select your preferred language and the Next button at the bottom of the window;
2. When scanning chosen folders to add audio files to the Library there is: Please wait, the rest of the sentence is localised;
3. When the scan is finished the Information window appears.
Could you add the missing strings for the words in bold to the new file for translators ??? Thanks :)
for 1, i appreciate it could look at the regional settings of the computer to work out a localised dialog but i figured it was very straight forward for people to figure out how to select a language
for 2 & 3, i cant find either of those in the file scanner - can you give me any extra info?
Hi, I have two questions on 1.4.4383's texts.1. the sizes displayed and the calculated number of discs required is estimated
1. What is the meaning of "#Burn.ctl.9CB2062E# file sizes are estimated"?
- MP3 file sizes are estimated afterwards?
- or, Displayed MP3 file sizes are estimated values?
2. What is the meaning of "burners" in "#Burn.msg.Ndbdet# No disc burners detected"?
- Some disc writing programs?
- or, Some disc writing drivers?
Regards,
butty
Russian translation is updated.i've auto-sized it for the next update
Steven, there is insufficient space for one text label in disk burner dialog. Could you enlarge space slightly?
i've auto-sized it for the next updateOK, thanks.
that isnt specific to DPI resolution - its simply the total space for all the labels exceeds the panel width. If any of the words can be abbreviated it will help. Also you can adjust the width of all dialogs using the first setting in the translation file.
I can tweak it so it so it handles the situation better by reducing the margins but i do think it will need some translation change
RMB on Track Browser column header, Configure Layout: items 5 column and 6 columns need separate entries in translation file (they have other form than for smaller number of columns in Polish)+1. The same for Russian.
Main panel in Artwork mode > RMB on main panel header > Group by: Sort Artist is not translatedSort Artist comes from a custom field that is set up when you first run MB, so if that was an english version then the text stays english but can be overridden in the Tags(1) preferences by the user.

In 1.4.4397 the following strings remain in English:they were:

Preferences > Layout >Configure views > Artwork - merge fields ...
In #Welc.msg.pwait#, what is {0}?its some action eg. {0}=loading files
In #Sort.msg.Desc1#, does "Desc" mean "Descending"?yes, its an abbreivation
Hi, I have two questions:1. for each file in your library there is a primary picture assigned (it is the first one displayed in the Artwork tab of the tag editor) - this is the picture that gets displayed
1. #Art.msg.rtppfef# reset the primary picture for existing files
I can't understand the meaning of this. Please tell me in other words.
2. #Sys.ctl.EA3EF86C# playback follows cursor
Please tell me the detail of this feature.
is it possible you first ran the new version using english and then switched it to japanese?
edit: thinking about it, thats what would have happened, so i will put in some handling for that
Hi, I have two questions:1. for each file in your library there is a primary picture assigned (it is the first one displayed in the Artwork tab of the tag editor) - this is the picture that gets displayed
1. #Art.msg.rtppfef# reset the primary picture for existing files
I can't understand the meaning of this. Please tell me in other words.
2. #Sys.ctl.EA3EF86C# playback follows cursor
Please tell me the detail of this feature.
it means that when this option is ticked, the primary picture for each file will be reset according to the retrieval ordering you specify eg. if you put folder.jpg as the top priority picture then ticking this option will ensure that the primary picture for files that have a folder.jpg will be set to that picture
2. it means that when musicbee is ready to play the next song, it will play the song you currently have selected (if the song selected is the one playing then it plays the next song it would normally have played next)
you dont need it - just select English from the list
Steven,could you enlarge two buttons:
1) 'Open Presets File...' in the Presets Radio Station Directory,
2) 'Copy Error' in the Error log Window
- as the current ones are a bit too short for the Polish translation ???
As far as the first one, the first letter is not showing: 'tworz' is displayed instead of 'Otworz'.
When it comes to the second one, 'Copy error' was translated as 'Blad' instead of 'Skopiuj blad' because the more accurate translation doesn't fit the button. (Diacritic marks for the words in Polish removed in this post for better readability).
- 'verwijder' = removeignore could be used
wouldn't 'ignore' be better? (I must admit I don't really understand yet what it does)
- Text 'underflow'i will auto-position the button to the text
(moving button 6 characters to the right would be sufficient)
- is 'retrieve artist genres' correct?genres can apply to an artist or more specifically to a particular album (or even a track). By default MB retrieves the generes for the album in question but ticking this option means that only more general artist genres are retrieved
Shouldn't this be either 'artist' or 'genre'? (or 'artist and genre'?)
- the 'g' misses a small part of it's tail ;-)i will increase the button height by 1 px
(don't bother if it is because I changed some font incorrectly)

Er gaat toch nog een lange waslijst aan verbeteringen aankomen, komt waarschijnlijk dinsdag je kant op...
OKE!!!! ben benieuwd :D
Lijkt me ook beter voor die malle Engelsen?Hhaha ja inderdaad... Naja
Do you want us to keep filling this thread, or would you prefer a new subject for everything we encounter?i will have a look at these items on the weekend
Can somebody please describe what the content/meaning of {0} is in below two lines? As I can see it from my translation {0} should be drive letter (eg 'E:' or 'F:'). Steven might want to correct me.
#LBck.msg.Ttfntboadd# The target folder needs to be on a different drive to {0}
#LBck.msg.Sttdaffff# Select the target drive and folder for files from {0}Also from my translation: {0} should be library name (I translated this string in manner '...and folder for files from library {0}').
Not the most important issue of the year, but more some wordplay with logics, I still think it should be mentioned:This was hard to translate for me too because its language dependent and I'm afraid there is no common wording in any language (but you correctly understand meaning of this string).
Trying, but not succeeding in translating the item below in a correct and way completely making sense, I think the statement is initially wrong.
Shouldn't 'maximum' say 'minimum'? And after the input box something like '(by adding a maximum of ... zeros)'
Since you can't limit e.g. to 2 numbers, because after '99', it will become 3 numbers?
If it is intended to mean the number of zeros it will add it's also incorrect, since if you enter '2' in the box, it would add maximum 1 zero?
I think input before, and after the box should also be revised for English?I think this should decide men natively speaking in English.
Here is what i encounterd:for 1, i dont see how i can make more space so suggest you use something like "copy file tags to an iTunes formatted XML file"

its useok :) you fixed it in the english file?
1. What is "Unblock"ing? (Main.msg.UntlVSp, etc.)for 1, you will only see it on .exe and .dll files directly downloaded from the internet (i dont think it happens for unzipped files)
In my Japanese Win7 has no "Unblock" in Properties of Explorer.
2. In Sys.ctl.F4B37B90, what "(1)" means? Not "{1}"?
3. On LFM.msg.view, does the word "view" mean a new concept/feature, or it is just a View menu?
And, please tell me how to display this string.
2. If you go to Preferences/ Player/ Taskbar Player you will see what it means - it just means that selecting this command will use 1 button
would you please check: #Main.msg.AudioFile# audio filethat has been corrected for the next update
There is a translated 'audio file' in the edit-window but also a not translated 'audio file' in the filter-rules, therefore rules based on type dont work properly
or other way round: if #Main.msg.AudioFile# remains untranslated the rules on type are working
#NPL.ctl.844FEA6F# is not working???? i see transparent but i putted doorzichtig here :Si tried just now using one of your fairly recent files and it works fine

Updated French file
http://www.mediafire.com/?9v22hk2xvifzq1h
it was changed to:
Sys.ctl.B757EA73
see the section:
! 8-April-2012
! corrections to previous new.txt
!TMP.txt.Up next...# Up next...these are used in the theater mode plugin, and both are a header above the next track is due to be played
!TMP.msg.Cun# Coming up next...
!Sys.ctl.FC56D058# use Windows defaultthats for the video plugin in the Player preferences and that instructs MB to use the default video player application associated with the file extension you are playing
This seems untranslated:
if you are refering to the auto-playlist names then they will not be translated. if its the other things it will be something missing in your file
I tried to translate Greb's Theater Mode Plugin, but stock on two menu items called "Main Bar [#]" and "List [#]". I suppose because of the #-sign it isn't possible to translate them or I don't know how: "#TMP.txt.Main Bar [#]#" at least isn't correct... ???Should I ask Greb to replace the "#" by letters, i.e. "No"?
-#Main.menu.Disabed# --> should be called #Main.menu.Disabled#-#Main.menu.Disabed# has been corrected in the translation file for the next update but anyone reading this can of course fix it now
-#Main.msg.playtrack#
Should I ask Greb to replace the "#" by letters, i.e. "No"?
-#Main.menu.Disabed# --> should be called #Main.menu.Disabled#
It looks like in File Converter Cvt.ctl.12CD9693 is used instead of Cvt.ctl.F56B26B4 ?i think its correct:
Also, in Preferences/Layout #Main.menu.THorizont# & #Main.menu.TVertical are used instead of #Sys.ctl.586D8565# & #Sys.ctl.4D64A009#thats correct - they used to be radio buttons but are now in a drop down box
thats fixed for the next update with no further action required by yourselfWhat can I say… You're too fast for me :)
i have added support for this in localisation file for the next udpate:
#Sys.msg.Yntsaaf# You need to select an action first.
i re-uploaded the file which should now include the missing translations:Thx, works perfectly!
http://musicbee.niblseed.com/Weekly/Localisation/Deutsch.lngc
The lower casing is for prompts, and mixed casing for values - its just a personal preference i have. The german translation always uses Mixed case because i gather its important for that language. Also if you have a strong feeling about always using mixed case then thats fine with me as wellOki doki.
Not specifically a translation issue, but there is a spelling error in a MB folder.you are right but its too late now
(Plugins/TheaterMode.EmbededPlugins/TheaterMode.Embeded)
'Embeded' should be 'Embedded'.
(is also mentioned in the latest translator file)

MB stereo enhancer i will leave as is
Tempo and "show track properties..." should be fixed for the next 2.1 updateBoth work fine now, thx.
MB stereo enhancer i will leave as isWell, not a big deal, but that leeds to two inconsistencies:
I appreciate what you say about the duplication - the reason for duplicates is because loading the translations for fields in an input form is automated based on the name of the field. If i hard-coded things then it would bloat the program codeThx for the explanation, of course an acceptable argument.
A German user found a word, which is, as far as I can see, not translatable at the moment:
Under Settings -> Device Settings -> Auto-Sync Settings -> synchronise files from: the word "video" remains in English.
Under Settings -> Device Settings -> Auto-Sync Settings -> synchronise files from: the word "video" remains in English.its in the next update
its included in the next language update and will be:Perfect, thx!

It's strange but Polish letters with diacritic marks are not aligned with other ones.
The same issue exists in the Polish translation of Additional Tagging Tools Plugin.
Have got a similar issues with diacritic marks in MB localisation to your native language ???
MB version shown at the screenshot: 2.1.9404
(I'm not sure if it is reproducible with MB 2.0 final, but I can check if needed).
It looks like font you are using has no precomposed characters with diacritic marks, so that those characters are dynamically composed from original char and diacritic mark. Not sure though.
for the custom tag names, this has been raised a few times but its a bit problematic for me to do them and not something i am will to do
for the second, "PLE.ctl.F01D0C52" should workThank you for your answers.
it should work correctly in the next v2.2 updateQuote from: Stevenfor the second, "PLE.ctl.F01D0C52" should workThank you for your answers.
But I think something is still wrong.
I need a new identifier for translation of the word "Compact Player".i see its actually already available as:
This new expression should then be used in combo "minimise to:" - see picture.
I have two questions:1. i have uploaded the french ones:
1) What are the recommended dimensions of these buttons: #Image.PlayArtwork#, #Image.PlayArtworkSmall# and #Image.PlayArtworkNoButton# ?
2) In what situation will show an image #Image.PlayArtworkNoButton#?
I found a typo (#Main.msg.UnstLDB#):thanks - thats fixed for the next 2.2 update
i see its actually already available as:Great! It really works!
#Main.menu.CoPl2#
1. i have uploaded the french ones:Thank you for the offer, but I do not need it. BTW - for me doing this job EventGhost (a Python script action):
http://www.mediafire.com/?8h869du9799y5fs
but if you want just let me know what the text should be and i will send back the base64 string you would use
In case of the IDs below, could we have separate versions for 2, 3, and 4 items, to accommodate for languages with paucal number (and also dual, trial and quadral) - like Polish+1. It would be great to have #Main.msg.Files2_4#, #Main.msg.SelFiles2_4#, etc. (2 to 4 items) strings.
#Main.msg.Files1#
#Main.msg.Files9#
#Main.msg.SelFiles1#
#Main.msg.SelFiles9#
#Main.msg.DupFiles1#
#Main.msg.DupFiles9#
#Main.msg.NewFiles1#
#Main.msg.NewFiles9#
#Main.msg.Items1#
#Main.msg.Items9#

#Main.msg.Tracks1#
#Main.msg.Tracks9#
#Main.msg.Plays1#
#Main.msg.Plays9#
#Main.msg.Subs1#
#Main.msg.Subs9#
BTW, in Russian (and I think in Polish also) string ID should depend on rightest digit of number, eg. for number 241 form #Main.msg.Files1# should be used.
- Could we have Polish play button as well? The text to put on it is:If you are interested, I can do it for you. I think Steven can do more useful work.
Odtwórz
The third letter from the end is Latin small letter o with acute, Unicode 00F3 or LAlt+00243
- In case of the IDs below, could we have separate versions for 2, 3, and 4 items, to accommodate for languages with paucal number (and also dual, trial and quadral) - like Polish+1
Right. Almost. It's even a bit more complicated after I've thought about it a little, see below.Well, the Russian requirements are almost the same as Polish, but 11 must have the form 'albomov' and any other number ending with 1 form 'albom'. So we need for Slavic languages the following forms of strings:
Yes, it is perfectly suitable for Czech.
- 1 item
- 11, 12, 13, 14 items or any other number ending with 5-9
- any other number ending with 1
- any other number ending with 2, 3, 4
Pako, please confirm that this acceptable for Czech.
It's OK for Polish as well, one correction though - second point should include numbers ending with 5-9 and ending with 0
- 1 item
- 11, 12, 13, 14 items or any other number ending with 5-9
- any other number ending with 1
- any other number ending with 2, 3, 4
...one correction though - second point should include numbers ending with 5-9 and ending with 0Completely forgot about this. Of course the same for Russian (and I think for Czech).
so i will do:Steven, thank you very much!
- No items - already done
- 1 item - already done
- 11, 12, 13, 14 items or any other number ending with 5-9
- any number ending with 0 -
not used apart from polish. Should be the same as for 5-9 endings- any other number ending with 1
- any other number ending with 2, 3, 4
- any other number - use the existing plural value. May be the same as for 5-9 endings[/b]
and if any of the rules are missing MB will use the existing plural value.
- Could we have Polish play button as well? The text to put on it is:
i will change it to use this convention:this has the new convention:
#Main.msg.Files9:059#
#Main.msg.Files9:1#
#Main.msg.Files9:24#
Steven, thank you. All is working fine for Russian.
Does it work for all 'number' ids ending with 9?Yes. All is fine here.
thats fixed for the next v2.2 update
Boroda, Pako, are you OK with this change as well?I do not know, I have not tried it yet.

I found the same two positions and can add two on the top ;D , concerning the Artwork-Downloader popup window:
- It seems that #Main.menu.RandomSkin# is not used. "Random Skin" is not localized for me (2.2.5012).
- Cant find localization string for this: "sub-grouping header:"
In the Download view ... the progress information: "X of Y K bytes received (Z%)"I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but I suppose the new #Main.msg.DownlPer# isn't recognized here...?
part of the problem will be that in your file you the text "..." has been replaced with a single character unicode variation - each time i compile your file i need to do a global search and replace to fix that. That would have been good to been told earlier. Please don't hesitate to bring problems to the table as they are discovered. I never get offended or hurt by criticism, and certainly not constructive criticism, so if there's something that needs to be dealt with, just tell me.
As to track search, i see no reason it shouldnt work with #Main.menu.WebSearch# - perhaps there is a formatting issue in the file? Not that I can find. At least not in the immediate vicinity of that string. I'll do a re-formatting back and forth. Let's see if that takes care of the problem, if it's a small glitch in a single character or line.
Apparently a word is missing:it should be already in the file:

Steven, the "Unknown Subscription" list in the Podcasts area is not in the localization file.they are done for the next update. Keep in mind for the default auto-playlists that they will only be set on first installation so you wont see the change
And it seems to be the same for some highly visible wording in the Playlists area:

- the default playlists names:"Recently Added", "Recently Played", "Top 25 Most Played", "Top Rated"

During synchronization, the "Status Sync" string is not translated. Yet it is at the end of the sync, showing the final status.
Not-translated words exist in CD-ripping window: "in error" when failed in verification.both have been added for the next update
And some semantics I have some troubles with:downloading means MB is currently downloading the file
In #Main.msg.CResArtCa# you mention 'downloading' and 'retrieving' as different entities. (but I 've run into this before)
I understand both terms, but in my language the differentiation between those two in computer terminology is a bit difficult.
Could you maybe briefly explain the functional difference between these two within Musicbee?
There is an entry: #Main.menu.SeFilResc# File Rescanits the same function in MB so not something i can change easily
You can invoke that command both by right clicking a file or a folder.
When thriving for perfection in Dutch these technically should be translated slightly different.
If you feel there should be a differentiation for English too, please make a change.
If not I can make a slight change which will cover it for Dutch good enough.
this one should already be in the file:

Not-translated lines exist in Theater Panel Dock.they should already be fixed in the latest patch version and no further action needed by yourself
"Fullscreen", and "Normal mode settings:".
Another problem, but as it needs a completely new install, I tried by using the portable version.thanks for testing this. The english version of the files are included with the portable installer so i will remove them from the installer
So here is what I did:
- Installed the 2.4 portable version but did not run MB
- Copied the content of the latest 2.5 nightly over it
- Copied the new French localization file
- Ran MB
- Chose the new French localization file at startup
When creating a new playlist, the first one is translated correctly ("Liste de lecture" for instance).that should be fixed for the next update
But then, subsequent ones are still in English ("Playlist (2)" for instance)
There are a few missing entries for the auto-dj panel:I also miss the possibilty to translate the word "tag" behind station type.

I just downloaded the version 2.5.5498. Could it be, that I need an even newer one?its in the theater mode plugin - did you update that file?
I have checked again on the other PC, and the string is well translated in the LNG file.its translated in all places i can find but are you using 2.5.5499
Is there another place where the same string is used so that I can check whether it is translated there?
I found a minor problem in track property window:i have made some changes for the next v2.5 update.
Replay gain values are not fully displayed.
Where is 2.5.5499??You can always get the latest patch from http://musicbee.niblseed.com/V2_5/MusicBee_Exe_Patched.zip
Fiy, with that version, the 'of' problem is now solved when using Dutch translation.Which version are you using? What is the date of the musicbee.exe file? I can't get hand on the 5499 version -the one I can download is 5498 :)
To be certain, we are both talking about this occurrence of 'of' correct?Yes that's it: http://vvcap.net/db/YLK2qIseg0q3YN_OXpIP.htp

You're right, one day to old, sorry.I just downloaded the version 2.5.5498. Could it be, that I need an even newer one?its in the theater mode plugin - did you update that file?
I am struggling a little bit with translating 'Playing Tracks'. (the former Now Playing' panel)
Technically, you could argue that the tracks in that panel are not playing, but queued.
Is this something you might want to change?
i agree with your definition and suggest you use that as the basis for your translation if it makes it easier but i wont change the english wording
for the && issue, i think it should only be a single & in the text file for v3
for the issues you have reported i wouldnt be looking to change anything until v3.1
the text is actually user-defined in the Tags(1)/ Custom tags preferences, however i agree the default values should be translateable so i will look at that for v3.1

here word 'секу' are moved to the right from number box and is truncated, it must be 'секунд'. word 'композиц' is truncated also, it must be 'композиции'.both are fixed for the next update
the word 'дорожка:' (track:) in multi-track tag editor doesn't fit its place and field 'год:' (year:) is anyway very long.

Steven, could you add new translatable menu item 'MusicBee <Language> Localization Forum Topic ' (<Language> must be substituted (by translator, not by mb) by current mb localization langauge, e.g. 'Russian', this menu item must be absent for native english localization) to the 'Help' menu?thats done for the next translation release
Steven, it seems that prefs> layout (1)> "artist pictures: [ ] clip to a circle" is not localizable.

It's the third entry in this 'screenshot':

There is no simple Dutch word to use for 'override' here, and to improvise my way around it a bit I need to understand what this does exactly?:almost the same for russian. i've used russian equivalent of english "redefine sorting".
#Tag.ctl.ensortov# enable sorting overrides
(I can't even find it in the tag editor panel?)

#Tag.ctl.ensortov# enable sorting overrides
(I can't even find it in the tag editor panel?)
But in the translation file only #Sys.ctl.E4687E1B# is available, and that will change both occurrences.for the next translation file i have added one for "default font:"
I think this should say 'minimum', not 'maximum'.i dont think its wrong and the example on the should remove any doubts. However if you feel it doesnt translate well then please use what you think is best
These buttons (settings panel auto-album tagger) have no translation entries:thats corrected for the next update. No extra translation is required
#Sys.ctl.76DC4ACC# use logarithmic volume scalingMB uses linear by default. This is the BASS definition:
Shouldn't this be the other way around?
I'm pretty sure the default is already logarithmic (which resembles the human ear).
So this alternative setting is probably 'linear' then?
MB uses linear by default. This is the BASS definition:
When using the linear curve, the volume range is from 0% (silent) to 100% (full). When using the logarithmic curve, the volume range is from -100 dB (effectively silent) to 0 dB (full). For example, a volume level of 0.5 is 50% linear or -50 dB logarithmic.
The linear curve is used by default.
These two have no translation entry:those are included in the next translation file.
(Album Artwork Manager)
No entry for 'Folders' here:thats fixed for the next v3.1 update
And could anyone explain to a dummy where "#TM.msg.SaveAsOrg# Save As Organised Artwork" is used... ???In Preferences> Tags (1)> artwork storage
The following one has not only to do with translation, for me it seems to be a little bit confusing even in English...:they all refer to the same core functionality which is to manage playlistsSo, three different words for (almost) the same... Couldn't/shouldn't handling and words be changed to exact the same?
- The tag "#MBL.msg.playlman# playlist manager" seems to be used nowhere,
- but the help text "#MBL.msg.PlayMan# Shows and enables management of playlists."
- belongs to the tag "#Main.msg.PlayDirect# Playlist Directory" in the panel management
- In addition there's a "#Main.menu.PlayDire# Playlist Explorer" which looks pretty the same, but is activated from the left navigation.
#MBL.msg.PlayMan# Shows and enables management of playlists.
! used to be called the Playlist Manager, in the left navigator
#Main.menu.PlayDire# Playlist Explorer
#Sys.ctl.EAD654EC# playlist explorer
! used as a panel header for a list of playlist files
#Main.msg.PlayDirect# Playlist Directory
! the panel referenced in the panel arrangement dialog
#MBL.msg.playdirect# playlist directory
I noticed that: #Sys.ctl.6783B757# says: "album cover search rules:" in the translator file that I am using, but in MB 3.1 it now displays "set which pictures are displayed".yes they are definitive changes. I will include them in the new file
The same for: #Sys.btn.36C6EB07# which in the translator file says: "Set Retrieval Filter...", but in MB itself now says: "Edit List:".
Are those definitive changes? Are there perhaps more changes that are not in this translator file?
"#TM.msg.SaveAsOrg# Save As Organised Artwork" is used in Tools/ Artwork/ Album Artwork ManagerFinally got it, thx (together with Bee-lievers hint, thx too), it's quite a tricky one...
when you right click on a picture in the right of that panel. However it only shows if the artwork is not already organised
they all refer to the same core functionality which is to manage playlistsThat's what I understood. But in my opinion it could have the same name - independently of its use as a tab or panel: When the "Playlist Directory" is integrated in the panel, clicking on Navigators "Playlist Explorer" does nothing but change the header name and removing the playlists from the library navigation part (at least for me it looks like). So it might even make sense to automatically remove the "Playlist Explorer" from the Navigator if the "Playlist Directory" is shown in a panel...
With one question: has the translation file been updated since Feb 26th?
The translation for: #Sys.ctl.EA798918# is not being reflected in MB.it should be #Sys.btn.EA798918#
(the 'Exclude' button)
#MBL.msg.playlman# playlist manageri dont recall the history but its definitely not used any more
was present in the previous language file, but is absent from the one posted today.
Is that intentional?
#Floc.msg.ArtTitMatch# Artist, Title matchit means and. Its done that way to compress the space used
Technically this could be interpreted as both 'Artist and Title' or 'Artist or Title'.
(it's most certainly the first, but I guess I am trying to say it would better say 'and' instead of a comma)
These two should probably also say 'btn' instead of 'ctl'?:yes you are right and the file has been corrected
#Sys.ctl.EDD1FA53#.
#Sys.ctl.1E283F2D#
#Floc.msg.ArtTitMatch# Artist, Title matchit means and. Its done that way to compress the space used
Technically this could be interpreted as both 'Artist and Title' or 'Artist or Title'.
(it's most certainly the first, but I guess I am trying to say it would better say 'and' instead of a comma)
It caught my eye since a few lines below it it says:
#Floc.msg.AllMatch# Artist, Title and Size match
which reads perfectly well.
I'll try to create some missing files to see what the translated item looks like 'in action'.
Here is an untranslated entry.it only applies to custom bitmap skins and uses an old translation element:
It doesn't seem to be available in the default skin, but it is with bitmapped skins.
is it some obsolete feature, or is it only missing from the translation file?
it only applies to custom bitmap skins and uses an old translation element:
#NP.menu.CustBackgr# Custom Background
But the issues I raise in my postings on translating issues are not necessarily factual errors or omissions, and will only possibly be implemented on Stevens discretion.... which might be similar to some other languages as well...
So, unless I am mistaken, wouldn't it suffice for other translators such as you to just download the most recent language file Steven released, and look for implemented changes there? (notepad++'s compare plugin is great for that)I just use the delta, so no need to compare. But that doesn't mather in this case: If I find something not or not correctly translated/translatable, I have to look where the problem is. If I see, that you or others had the same issue, I don't need to investigate more time into that. So your posts are really helpful for me! Therefore it's not a question of bothering or not (there're NOT), it's just a question of how easily helpful :)
...., it's just a question of how easily helpful :)
Btw: In my version 3.1.6335 of MB there's no dropdown behind "do not crossfade"... ???
I am not certain on the intention of:suggest the 2nd case and i agree that its not very useful for users, but it might be very useful for translator(s) and thus very useful for all users again.
#Main.msg.MBLLFoTo# <Language> Forum Topic
That seems a good idea for languages that have a general discussion board in their own language.
But the option to provide a link in the translation file is described as: 'your forum topic for localisation'
That suggests it is intended for a link to the thread that only concerns translation issues?
In the first case, for most languages that entry has no purpose, since they don't have a localised general discussion or support board.
In the second case I think such a link is only interesting to 0.0001% of MB users?
1) The button is not large enough to display "Appliquer les modifications" in French for instance1) i am going to change the wording to "Proceed" as "Apply Changes" wasnt a good choice in the first place
2) The column title reads "Differences" in the original version, while it actually show matches rather than differences. Or? :)
One question about a past localization entry: what is the English version of the #aSplit.msg.diar# string? I have 2 versions in my archives, that do not match btw French and English
PS: what is the original English version by the way? English or English US? Sorry to ask ;)!

The messages for #Scan.msg.ScUpdCashFi# and #Scan.msg.CRefthitag# cannot be translated correctly to German because they have been combined with #Main.msg.SelFiles1# or #Main.msg.SelFiles9#:how about translating this instead?
#Main.msg.SelFiles1# is in German correctly "1 Datei ausgewählt" and #Main.msg.SelFiles9# "{0} Dateien ausgewählt".
But in the context of a sentence they should be changed to:
#Scan.msg.ScUpdCashFi#
1: "BESTÄTIGUNG: 1 ausgewählte Datei scannen und mit den Tag-Werten, die von der MusicBee-Datenbank abweichen, neu schreiben?"
more: "BESTÄTIGUNG: {0} ausgewählte Dateien scannen und mit den Tag-Werten, die von der MusicBee-Datenbank abweichen, neu schreiben?"
'Album Artist' here has no translation entry:it should do:

Btw: In my version 3.1.6335 of MB there's no dropdown behind "do not crossfade"... ???does this still happen. I cant reproduce this
Yes, but this is good as it is! It was only an answer to hiccup's print screen one post before (Post #794) with an unnecessary drop down (which seems to be a problem existing only on his installation).Btw: In my version 3.1.6335 of MB there's no dropdown behind "do not crossfade"... ???does this still happen. how about translating this instead?Thx for your suggestion. I didn't want to loose the usefull information about the number of files concerned. Therefore I used another workaround (so it's ok for me, if there might be other side effects by changing the programs behaviour):
CONFIRMATION: Scan the selected files and rewrite the files with tag values that differ to the MusicBee database?
Is there any way to see what I'm translating in musicbee? That is, it would be great if there is a language compiler so that it is possible to preview what I've done. You don't need a compiler: Just put your readable working file yourlanguage.lng into MB's subdirectory called Localisation. After that it can be choosen under Edit -> Preferences -> General -> language the same way as compiled files can (see also here (https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=3258.0)).
unfortunately what can happen is i update the program with wording changes and forget to update the language file
[Is there any chance to correct it by refreshing your reference language file for translation? I'd like to apply the changes before releasing my work if possible.i have programmatically regenerated the file up to and including v3.0
Thank you for the help.It is true the same text can be used with multiple id's but i cant change that. You can be sure all the items in this file are used
I'll review with the file and release when it is finished.
ps. Oops, there are so many duplicates and it seems you didn't remove many obsolete items.
As I cannot figure out items to be removed which is no longer used, I decide not to touch them and focus on newly changed items from the given reference file using a comparison tool.
Thank you for the help.its because Steven repeats (hopefully for me) the same words/(sub)sentences for every dialog, where they are used.
I'll review with the file and release when it is finished.

Concerning #Main.msg.Rtsffp#
(But this might be a problem for German and Russian translations too?)
could you just use:
Remove the selected file(s) from playlist '{1}'?
I dont think you would need to change #Main.msg.SelFiles1#
for #Main.msg.Rtsffp# you would get rid of the {0} from "Remove the {0} from playlist '{1}'?" and construct the sentence based on "Remove the selected file from playlist '{1}'?"
#Main.msg.Rtsffp# Remove the selected file from playlist '{1}'?
#Main.msg.Rtsffp.n# Remove the {0} from playlist '{1}'?
Codefor the singular you translate the entire sentence#Main.msg.Rtsffp# Remove the selected file from playlist '{1}'?
#Main.msg.Rtsffp.n# Remove the {0} from playlist '{1}'?
and for the plural {0} has #Main.msg.SelFiles9# substituted as now
Thx for giving it at try! Unfortunately this doesn't work for German plural because of the word order in #Main.msg.SelFiles9#. It could only work if I could leave this field away, so could translate "Remove the {0} selected files from playlist '{1}'" instead - and {0} would be replaced by the number of files only.that can be made to work.
Shouldn't the next entry be refreshed a bit? Just asking in case it applies to newer versions of Windows as well.i have decided to remove that tool tip as the comparison was with XP

with the change as described:Thx for giving it at try! Unfortunately this doesn't work for German plural because of the word order in #Main.msg.SelFiles9#. I don't believe it's very sensible for the translators to upload our file every time we change something in it.
Would it be an idea if you could let it be known when you are ready to integrate them in a next MB release?
We could just upload our most recent version then.
HiThis has come up a few times but never gained traction. The concern i have is that this is a small forum and there wont be enough active french, german, dutch forum members who could help. Maybe key parts of the wiki (such as the FAQ and Anatomy of MB sections) could be translated and linked to?
I got a question from a French user who was looking for a support section in French, on this site. Do we already have such localized sections in the forum ? I couldn't find any. But I think it is a good idea, and the right place for it.
We could even mention it next to the Localization thread in the Support menu within MB.
What do you think?
i will add support for plural by adding a variation on the id by appending ".n" eg:
#Main.msg.Rtsffp# translation for singular
#Main.msg.Rtsffp.n# translation for plural
i have reworded it:
CONFIRMATION: Scan {0} and re-save the files that have tag values that differ to the MusicBee database?
I have applied the new .n plural management in the French translation, but I end up with truncated values, like in the examples below:
Steven, please don't forget to include my translation in next beta release.. :pthere will be one more small set of translations before that
The button for "#Sys.btn.5BA89F9B# Add Plugin" is too small for the translated text.i will look into the first and the second, untick "show the tracks for the selected album"

#Tag.ctl.origalb# says "original title"it maps to TOAL for mp3 files. It does seem "original album" would be better and generally more useful. I think i will change the english translation. I vaguely recall checking into how other players were using it because the ID3 spec is a little ambiguous on it and at least some were using "original title"
Shouldn't that be "original album"?
The same for #Main.field.177#
While this may have been done on purpose, I believe the word 'album' should be mentioned, since otherwise in the context it's not very clear that it pertains to the album, not the track.

In my opinon it's a little bit unusual to have a checkbox indented below another one, which could only be select if the upper checkbox is NOT selected. Wouldn't it be a better choice to just have a 4th radio button "when an album picture is double clicked"?

Not sure, but perhaps that sounds a little bit better in English too?
#Tag.msg.MuscCred#ok
#Tag.msg.MuscCred2#
say "is now edited".
I am guessing 'now' is not intended as standing for 'at this actual moment', but it refers to the fact that it worked differently in older MB versions.
In the latter case I think 'now' should be removed. Such info is appropriate for release notes, but not so much in the actual user interface.

'Customise...' has no translation entry
right-click an auto-playlist > edit auto-playlist:
'name:' has no translation entry
#Main.menu.DoNoDi# originally was 'Do Not Display' but was later changed to 'Dont Show Thumbnails'.
The new translation suggestion is not appropriate for all locations, e.g.: right-click player panel > panel layout
The new #ePlay.ctl.FD36AC22# doesn't seem to function yet.It should be #RPL.ctl.FD36AC22#
#ePlay.ctl.FD36AC22# should work with the latest patch version, which i posted after hiccup's commentThe new #ePlay.ctl.FD36AC22# doesn't seem to function yet.It should be #RPL.ctl.FD36AC22#
#ePlay.ctl.FD36AC22# should work with the latest patch version, which i posted after hiccup's commentI just realized that there are two different places with the same text, but different tag names needed:
section name '- lyrics storage -' in device settings seems to be not localizable.#Dev.ctl.878B8BE4# lyrics storage
HiNo, same here, maybe the tag name is not suitable?
Is this only me or the #Dev.ctl.F3F5301E# string does not appear as translated in MB build 7003?
#Dev.ctl.F3F5301E# enable Wifi transfer with Android devices
Thanks
it should bePerfect, thx
#Sys.ctl.F3F5301E#
i will upload the corrected file
Does it mean that MB will look for MTP devices whatever value was in there before the last beta?yes
What is the meaning of this string:an abbreiviation for days, displayed in the stats on the right hand side of the status bar
#Main.msg.d # d
it seems that "edit: inspect tags" hotkey description is not localizable.
hiccup, thanks.
Steven, this fix and some minor updates:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/o731lh4bgk84bt9/Russian_%2528dev%2529_2019-09-20.zip/file
Steven, i've found minor issue in tag editor. floating tag editor is using correct localization for "album rating", but docked tag editor is using just translated word "album". not sure if this acceptable for english, but it sounds awkward for russian.
Hi
Here is another untranslated string, in the Podcast subscription settings/edit page (#sub.ctl.871650AE# in the file):
If you change it to: #Sub.ctl.871650AE# it works ;-)Good catch, thanks Hiccup!
#AP.btn.65E4E897# Load... not recognizedthis should work:
untranslated/untranslatable:checked against other translation files and was ok - use:
track with thumbnail settings:
now playing side paneli believe #MBL.msg.files# is used for that - its working in the german translation
Jukebox preferences has 'track details' as header, and some texts are not translated:I agree with "fields displayed" - it will use: #EPS.msg.fielddisp#
'seconds' here is not using the translation:thats supported now with no translation file changes
'semitones' has no translation yet:added to the next translation file
Here is another untranslated string, in the Podcast subscription settings/edit page (#sub.ctl.871650AE# in the file):it should be:
But Steven, here are 2 other untranslated strings, in the podcast downloads popup:added for the next translation file
It could well be me having failed to keep translation source files updated and actual.I do sometimes update the english text and forget to update the translation file. It would be quite a substantial effort to reconcile the differences so hopefully the differences dont matter too much
I do sometimes update the english text and forget to update the translation file. It would be quite a substantial effort to reconcile the differences so hopefully the differences dont matter too muchIs it also a lot of work to just list all currently active translation lines?
I have now updated the patch version and updated new3.4.txt if anyone wants to see all the changes now
Not sure if I had a terrible bad day or someone else... About half of the new translations don't work :-\ :

re: the other problems, I agree with hiccup that you probably have not updated to use the patch version. I will update the first forum topic at a later dateI always download the latest version from the "MusicBee 3.4" topic under "Latest Version", in this case 3.4.7525. Isn't this the right one and if yes, how should I know that, it was nothing mentioned neither there nor in this translators thread...?

It was mentioned in reply #1011:Ok, but after seeing a download for the new hierarchy explorer in the normal upgrade thread, I thought, that this is the right version. And there was no other link called patch at all... Therefore I really appreciate Stevens intention to continue the normal way.-----------
I have now updated the patch version and updated new3.4.txt if anyone wants to see all the changes now
'Storage' here is untranslatable.Thats added for the next official beta update
One thing though: it seems #Main.menu.CaDo# (Cancel Downloads) is still not translated.
The new: #Main.menu.AlwCTex#use
doesn't seem to work.
use
#Sys.ctl.770C051C# always center text
Going through the new translator file entries I come across a few I am not sure how to translate:
1.I appreciate its not obvious
#Sys.msg.PlTempSet# Player: Tempo Preset: Set
#Sys.msg.PlTempUse# Player: Tempo Preset: Use
2.MusicBeeBass.dll amongst other possible .dll files
#Main.msg.UnlBdll# Unable to load {0}
What does the {0} represent?
3.i think your suggestion is better
Shouldn't:
#TB.msg.EntPromp# Enter the prompt text
say something like:
Enter the label name
4.thats correct but the last translation is used
A tip for other translators. These two:
#PLE.ctl.CD369A33# show the tracks for the selected album or artist:
#PLE.ctl.9AD16EEF# directly under the selected album or artist
are most likely already present in your translation file. They only got rephrased.
So better edit those instead of adding duplicates.
99.done
I noticed that in MB's 'about MusicBee' credits panel my pre-2014 alias is mentioned for translation credits.
It would probably be good to update that.
'search' doesn't get translated in the hotkeys panelWell, it does and it's a very old entry: #NPA.msg.search:# search:
Well, it does and it's a very old entry: #NPA.msg.search:# search:
But it seems to be reactivated, but also repurposed a little bit. You're right, it seems to be a lookalike re-use without notice... Thx for pointing that out, I will ajust that in the next German translation file.
It used to mean 'search in', but now it is intended to mean something like 'search for'.
I noticed that you still have the old intended purpose for it in your translation: "Suche in:"
For the new purpose I am guessing it should now be just "Suche".
Hi all.Works perfectly for me (translation file from 17/8/2020):
not sure this has already been reported, but I was not able to find this string in the translation file ("Filter buttons enable...") :
The two paragraphs cannot be translated into any language.

There is no Writer item - its Composer which i guess has been translated to Writer elsewhere?Ah yes, you are right.
I can't get 'Show "Love" button' translated. (compact player)that will work from the next patch update
I thought it might be #NP.menu.ShowTrLove#, but that doesn't seem to work.
- right click/ "Add to Playlist" is now "Include in Playlist" where you can now add or remove the selected track from playlistsJust to be sure, is that: #XBOX.menu.AddToPlay# ?
From hiccups missing translations, I also don't find "< 10 secs" (the others work fine with the latest translation file)Do you mean that all the other ones I reported missing under 2. work for you and are in your translation file?
Yep, exactly - all of them are part of the latest new.txt file in the MusicBee 3.5-topic (https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=36464.msg199822#msg199822) and MB 3.5.8146 shows the translated text. From hiccups missing translations, I also don't find "< 10 secs" (the others work fine with the latest translation file)Do you mean that all the other ones I reported missing under 2. work for you and are in your translation file?

3.its not straight-forward and requires coding to do that so wont promise. A similar exercise was done a couple of years ago and should have already weeded out the bulk of the unneeded items
Would it be possible to produce a list of all current translation codes?
It can be a raw list, only containing all #.....# strings that are loaded by MusicBee 3.5.
It would be helpful in creating/updating a complete but concise baseline xml for MB 3.5, without it containing baggage from older versions and duplicates that have been renamed/repurposed over the years.
In addition, I miss the translation possibilities for the file popup window header "Choose the target file..."its already in the complete list of translations file as
And the text for #NPL.ctl.8EB6C56F# (in German "Titel-Eigenschaften anzeigen") in front of #NPL.msg.pdfindic# ("show PDF file indicator") will be truncated, because it is longer than the English text.in the next update if it overflows into the contrast boxes, it moves the field to the next line
its not straight-forward and requires coding to do that so wont promise. A similar exercise was done a couple of years ago and should have already weeded out the bulk of the unneeded itemsYes, that exercise surely helped in weeding out several hundred obsolete lines.
Where or how is 'Save file to…' to be found? Are you referring to this?
@hiccup, it's window title text, when you click 'Save...' button.Thnx!, I never knew that such a text in a Window panel could be overruled.
#Tag.ctl.origalb# original title:my 2¢:
#Main.field.177# Original Title
#aTag.col.72458960# original title
they must be "original album", not "original title" (original track title)?
auto-tag by album: is 'artist' not localizable or am i missing something? It's not showing in my translation either.
auto-tag by album: is 'artist' not localizable or am i missing something?its missing - i will add it to the next file but if you want to check now it is:
#Tag.ctl.origalb# original title:yes, use Original Album for the first two. I vaguely recall there was a late change i made so perhaps i forgot to update the localisation file. I have re-added it to the 3.5 file
#Main.field.177# Original Title
#aTag.col.72458960# original title

edit> prefs> library: excessive word 'from'. maybe it must be placed onto the next line (but i would object to this), but it's not localized:it should be already there
it should be already thereyou are right. i vaguely recall that it was allowed in the past to have empty translation strings, e.g.
#Sys.ctl.86F3C5C9# from:
could you add (or return?) support for empty localization strings?Maybe I misunderstand the issue, but couldn't you simply enter a space for the translation string?
and spaces will add extra separator between text parts/parameters.Then use zero-width spaces?
i'll try to use spaces.Make sure to verify if they haven't got lost after the xml was compiled.

regarding original album, i realise now that the prompt is overridden with the field header. The fact that the Tag Editor panel now follows tag name changes was an improvement.
I have difficulties understanding this one:i am not happy with the current wording and plan to change the header to:
#Sys.ctl.B93499E5# link to the source picture
It shows up under 'downloaded album cover storage'.
So, after it was downloaded, the downloaded image is getting linked to the source picture?

"Playback: Play Album Now"its already in the new file
And for this too not yet translation entries?
And also there are no translation entries for "skin";I have added that to the next update of the translation file
re: copy, it is correct. When adding a picture, the picture file is copied to the organised picture location if its not already thereE.g. it says: 'copy to folder.jpg'
The items in the Undo Changes submenu were meant;List > Undo Changesits already in the file as

The translation file has:yes
#Main.menu.MFtoF# Move Files to Folder
But in MusicBee that now says 'sweep files to folder'.
'Sweep' is difficult/weird to translate literally.
Is it technically the same as 'move' in this situation?
Field name 'Volume Adjustment' may be missing from the main file for translators.
It's visible in: Now Playing tab -> Set Displayed fields... -> Other Fields -> Volume Adjustment
What is the #...# code?
See exchange with hiccup on that topic here:

This is the code:A good find karbock.
#Main.field.80# Volume Adjustment
@karbock - sorry i missed your original post. Yes it is 80 and i will add it to the file
A good find karbock.
Where did you find it? I haven't been able to find it in any of the original or localised translation files I have on my computer?
Or was it some educated guessing/trial and error?
In the .EXE, the text 'Volume Adjustment' immediately follows 'Random #',I'm curious, what .exe is that?
I'm curious, what .exe is that?
it's not the problem for me, but may be a problem for other translators. latest "new3.5.txt" doesn't contain string:it's on line 35
#Sys.msg.PlAlbNo# Playback: Play Album Now
2. "default location for added pictures" will be what i go withThat panel keeps itching a bit. Looking at it again:
@hiccup, just for the info, i've translated it (reverse translation to english) as: default storage for new coversYeah, it's probably subject to interpretation. The meaning of 'default location' could be interpreted in different ways I guess.
There is no translation entry for 'Radio Browser' (in the Radio panel)thats the name of the service so it should not be translated - do you agree?
#Dev.ctl.DDFBFA8F# do not copy lyrics
#CPL.ctl.4C11939E# main panel:
thats the name of the service so it should not be translated - do you agree?Oh, so it's some company's name? I thought it was a more generic feature like MB's column, or library browser.
contrast:It looks like it was missing from my baseline file.
in View menu -> Arrange panels... -> right sidebar -> playing tracks panel settings -> view: track with thumbnail -> customize layout...
It's now added:Thanks, hiccup!
Perhaps also check other locations where 'contrast' is mentioned?I'll keep an eye on it.

Since there is an 'English(US).lngc' available, I suppose that the default English localisation is meant for the British spelling, but some words are in American English. From what I have seen, only three base words are concerned: color/colour (+ derived forms), theater/theatre, center/centre (+ derived forms).I would prefer MusicBee using consistent British English.
'Colour' is used twice, and 'color' elsewhere. 'Theater Mode' is always written the American way, just as 'center/centered'.
