Title: importing other tags from discogs
Post by: cloudbank on December 04, 2020, 08:33:07 AM
I poked around but couldn't find this out. Short of writing one's own plugin, is there a way to add to the tags you can write from your sources?
E.g. I use the "Styles" tags from Discogs, but the tagging tools do not offer the option of writing that tag and I don't see a way to add it to the list of tags I can choose to save.  Will I have to paste it in manually each time I write a new set of tags from Discogs data?

I'm realizing that when populating tags from Discogs, MB's Genre = Discogs Genre + Style.  My preference is to keep these separate; is there a way to do so?

Hi, welcome to the forum!

You'd need a custom tag to separate the values, and there would be no automatic way for MusicBee to fill it in. Or you could make another tag for genres, and use the existing one for Discogs. (Incidentally, it is possible to relabel the field through the Configure Fields settings.)

I've muddled with the field settings some but it's not quite working for my end goal.  Thank you for answering my question, though!
