Title: Files on an external HDD
Post by: JaredReed on June 01, 2020, 10:28:11 AM
Hi, im new to musicbee, and i have a little project, idk if it will works: basically, i wanna buy an external HDD to store all my files (~260GB atm), and the thing is, i wanna be able to unplug this drive to read files on another laptop (which could have musicbee too). Idk too if anybody experienced that but since that software has a lot of features, i thought it can be cool to do.

why not just install portable version of MusicBee on hard drive? that way you have program, library and actual tracks on the device you want to swap between computers.
any play counts and data will then be constant and updated no matter which machine you play from.
only extra suggestion would be to make sure you back up the portable hard drive to one of the machines (or the cloud) on a regular basis so you don't lose your data.
