Hello Steven

I hope I'm not turning into a nuisance....

After a search, the search term remains in the search box, when you click into the search box again it would be nice if the whole current search term is highlighted and you can immediately start typing for a new search rather the Ctrl+A delete/backspace.

Yep, I'm agree with this.
Also, it would be great if Ctrl+Backspace worked in Search field.

To delete the whole term, you can click on the 'X' at the right of the box. This clears the box and places the cursor in the box as well.
