Hey ya'll,
NewB here. I've got a rather large and diverse mp3 library library that I have playing "randomly" but it ends up being extremely Queen/Elton/Elvis heaving. I tried setting the don't repeat the same artist until [ ] tracks to 25 but they'll still play the same artist back-to-back. How to I make it not repeat the artist?

Have you tried this?

Thanks for the reply.
So what does the "restrictions: gap before the same artist can repeat" do on the auto DJ page?
What I am trying to accomplish is for it play randomly from my library for background music in my house but not allow the same artist to play until 25 other artists have played.
I've got the "restrictions: gap before the same artist can repeat" on the auto DJ page set to [25]. This is not the correct way to do it?

That restriction option seems to work as it should for me.
Can you post a screenshot of your Auto DJ configuration?

Would be happy to if I could see how to upload an image!

Look at the instructions provided when you make a post

Thanks for that.

I'd suggest trying the "different artist" slider and see what happens.

So what does the "restrictions: gap before the same artist can repeat" do on the auto DJ page?
Looking at your screenshot, perhaps the 'gap before the same artist can repeat' function does not function when using a folder as a source?
Maybe it then completely ignores all tags, artist tags included?
(which would make some sense to me, but if that is indeed the case, the refining options below it should probably be grayed-out to indicate that)

If not a "folder" what would one use as a source?

Since you'd like it to play randomly from your library, I suggest try using "library" as the source.
