Title: A Selector for Keywords
Post by: phred on May 29, 2019, 11:14:29 PM
I'd love to see a ... menu appear for the Keywords tag similar to how genre, principal instrument or principal performer works/displays. I often use the same keyword and forget whether I've used (for example) singular or plural. Having it display as I start typing, it would show the keywords already saved in other tracks.

For years I had been using a custom tag, but recently did a wholesale change moving them all to the keywords tag. The custom tag had the 'type-ahead' menu which I found very helpful.

I hope the same can be applied to keywords.

Thanks.

+1 (for any possible field or tag actually)

+1 for some kind of revision to keywords. As phred said, it would be great to be able to see/reuse previously used ones and have a typical multi value splitter. And please make it semi-colon separated, for consistency, not comma-separated. That would let me actually use it and free up a custom tag slot.

Did the ... button disappear because of last.fm changes? If any of that functionality comes back, I'd rather have a list of suggestions (like genre used to have) than just a heap of tags I don't have much control over. I always wanted to see what was out there, but it was too much to sort through.

+1 to what phred and psychoadept both said about keywords, particularly making it have the standard multi-value splitter functionality.

Bumping for consideration in an early 3.4 release.

Using a semi-colon separator is already supported. For v3.4 I have enhanced the input functionality so it has a splitter dialog and auto-complete popup
