Title: OK to self-update BASS extensions?
Post by: sveakul on September 25, 2017, 04:08:50 AM
Hello,

I noticed on the Un4seen Developments site that newer BASS extension updates were available for bassmix.dll ("2.4.9: Adds asynchronous buffering for splitters, retrieval of a mixer's sources, and mixer playback buffer flushing when seeking") and bassflac.dll ("2.4.4: Adds support for chained Ogg FLAC streams").

I  updated to those versions on MusicBee 3.1.6468 and everything runs/sounds great, but would like to ask if that is recommended practice, or should we be waiting until Steven actually releases them within MB updates?  I'm concerned that MB may rely on certain specifications in its supplied BASS dll's to function correctly with other related operations/files.  Thanks for any info.  Backed up and ready to swap if necessary!   :)

OK Steven thanks!  I went ahead then and did the same with a couple of others that showed small version bumps on the un4seen site and no problems at all.
