Title: Want to only sync modified/new songs to Galaxy S7
Post by: bttrflii on May 18, 2017, 06:49:23 PM
Whenever I sync my playlists from my computer to my Galaxy S7, it takes forever because everything recopies instead of only updating what's changed or been added.

Is there any way to copy only the modified or new songs?

Thanks.

It's supposed to only copy stuff that's been changed, so that's weird.  I'm not sure how to trouble shoot, though.  :(

I have a similar issue.

How are you copying the files? The simplest answer would to see if that method supports keeping the file modification attributes. MusicBee will recopy anything with a newer timestamp, so it might be seeing a different time stamp than what's on the HDD, think it's changed, and then recopy it.

I know FTP and WebDAV servers hit this limitation. There are FTP clients that can do it, but not the build in Windows support.

If you are plugged in, then MTP should match those attributes correctly, in which case we are probably both hitting the same bug.

I have an S7 with SD card, now, and MusicBee syncs it as expected.  Is there anything non-standard about your set up?
