I'd love to be able to listen to midi files in MusicBee.
Any chance that might get added sometime?
Thanks.

*Push*
Yeah, it would be really nice, if MusicBee can play midi files.
-
It's been six years since this was brought up. How difficult will it be for this to be implemented?
-
I don't speak for Steven, but there are many wishlist requests here that have lots of people adding their +1s. MusicBee is developed by one person in his spare time and I can't see Steven adding support for something that has had three requests in six years. It has nothing to do with being easy or difficult to implement, but rather where to devote his limited time.

I'll +1 this. Trying to listen to midi files to learn choral parts...

i had a look at this and it turns out to be quite straight-forward (at least for basic midi support) so its done for v3.1
because its straight-forward i will probably add it to v3.0.
The only thing that needs to be configured is that a sound font file is selected from the Player/ input plugin preferences

for anyone who has edited the configuration.xml file, an updated version is now included

Awesome! I'll test this out shortly.

Okay, took longer than I intended, but I have tested this and it's working.
If anyone needs a sound font file, I found one through this page: http://www.synthfont.com/links_to_soundfonts.html

I saw the bassmidi file in the latest patch, so i tried if it had finally MIDI support and it has! Converting MIDI to wave works fine too.
