Why isn't Musicbee open sourced?

To be a bit pedantic about your signature;
Music Bee is written by one guy, Steven Mayall, not a team of dedicated coders. http://musicbee.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ#Who_makes_MusicBee.3F (Just a bit farther up from psychoadept's link.)
The community is pretty awesome, though.

I personally don't care much for signatures containing some veiled critique or requests.
The forum has every opportunity to ventilate those.
-
I only asked why it's not open sourced after reading from steven that it automatically sends him bug/crash reports
-
I've never been under the impression that mb sends automatic crash reports

I'd love to know where you read this. Can you give us a link please?
MB does no communication other than when auto-tagging is requested. And when ripping CDs (if enabled.)

I would say Chaython mis-interpreted Steven's post here (http://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=20132.msg119903#msg119903)
For the record, Steven only see's those settings files, after requesting them here on the forum.
They are sent, via PM at the users discretion, to help in debugging specific bug reports.

just to confirm there is no automated submission of crash reports
