Title: mp4a, 448 kbps
Post by: Chuckster on November 11, 2016, 05:01:37 PM
Hello!

I used Winamp before and I wonder if it is possible to get the MPEG-4AAC Enkoder v1.08 (or better) to be able to create songs with 480 kbps. It was possible with Winamp and it's the best quality for my sound equipment. FLAC files have certainly a much better quality but if my equipment can't realize it it'll be quite senseless to have bigger files, I think.

Can anybody give me an advice where and how I can get an encoder which enables mp4a 448k files?

Thank you!

There really isnt any need to encode at such a high bitrate. Around 190 or so is tested as transparent - see:

the same website has comparisons of AAC encoders that can be used from MusicBee
