Title: Can I stop playback if song is corrupt or way to check for corrupt files?
Post by: Gavio101 on June 12, 2016, 01:52:13 PM
So a lot of my music was corrupted from a dodgy backup, I have found quite a lot thanks to bad tags like having 0kps or being hrs long or having 400+ kps.

I have found that some of them are corrupt with correct tags and It would be handy for me if music bee stopped playing when it cannot play the song instead of just skipping it and playing the next one.

So is there a way to stop playback or even check for corrupt files?

There are some programs to do this.  I've used mp3val in a similar situation: http://mp3val.sourceforge.net/

Tried that program the scan keeps freezing. Also scanning 27000 songs and there seems to be no way to output the results which would make it really hard to navigate.

The scans tend to freeze on odd characters. Run sections of your library at a time is my advice. Then, when you've scanned with Mp3Val, I tend to do a second scan with Mp3Diags, which has a look for different sorts of corruption, but takes a hell of a lot longer.
