Would like an option that doesn't show album art when clicking on an album. Just clean and only show the songs.

Coming to think about this, one reason I almost never use the expanded panel is that I find it too large, and "in your face", so to speak.
I would welcome it if it could be made a bit less obtrusive.
Also the quite large font sizes contribute a bit to that.
So perhaps indeed some 'text only' mode without the eye candy and more regular font sizes?

Yes please!

And contemplating this some more, another reason I don't use the expanded panel so much, is that I like to be able to just play an album by pressing the play icon that usually appears when hovering over an album.
With the current implementation that hover-over play icon is disabled when the expanded panel mode is chosen.
So an additional request would be to have that play button available for the expanded panel mode too.
@rurutia10:
I feel I am hi-jacking your wish topic a bit. Please let me know if you feel that's the case. Then of course I will refrain from adding to this thread.

Can you make a screenshot of this? I'm not sure if I've seen it before.

+1 Preferably in two columns if space permits.
-
Currently the panel adepts the number of columns to the available width, so that could stay the same in my opinion.
But with the advantage that absence of an image provides for more room for the columns.

Amazing thank you!

Cool, thanks for that! A benefit of that setting is shorter albums now take up less vertical space.
I wonder if the expanded menu could make better use of space when it comes to displaying tracks in columns. At the moment an average album seems to always stop at 9 tracks in the first column, which usually results in just one or two tracks occupying the second column. My suggestion is for the columns to automatically balance the tracks so that they are more or less equal in all columns - this would look neater and also save more screen space.

I didn't even have time to +1 this request.
Nicely enabled. Thanks Steven.

It's working nicely, thanks again.

This turned out very well. I am very happy to use the expanded panel now.
Is my suggestion/request for having a play button appearing at hover-over the album under consideration?
That would put the icing on the cake for this mode. (in my humble opinion)
Also, the close button being on the left feels a bit awkward, but I would understand the reason, since it might conflict a little bit when album art is displayed on the right in the expanded panel. But without the art showing there, I would like it on the right a little bit better.
-
A possible bug - I'm pretty sure before the expanded menu would bump up the screen if needed to accommodate the extra vertical space.
It's no longer behaving that way after the changes made to the columns.

when i click on a picture (with the album picture disabled) it works exactly as before and will scroll the panel up to accomodate the entire album if possible. Have i understood what you are doing? Maybe post a screenshot

i've changed the close button orientation when artwork is disabled

Yeah it's fine in album covers view, I'm referring to when albums are grouped by artist.
Clicking the artist picture does bump the panel, but clicking an album displayed underneath has no effect.

I hate myself for yet again having a comment/request for the expanded panel, but I just can't be helped.
With most popular music and it's titles, the width for the columns is very good.
But for a lot of classical music with long titles, you often miss the last part of those titles, which makes it sometimes impossible to distinguish between tracks.
I myself can imagine two possible solutions for this.
Either have the column widths adapting to long titles, or have a second line for long titles.
(or maybe even a bit of both)
