Title: wish: programmable pause time between tracks
Post by: Bruno on January 04, 2015, 01:13:17 AM
Hello,

this is my 1st post, first of all thank you Steve for this great music experiencing tool.

I'd like to post a wish that I've posted on several other players wish lists,
and for some reason not only the developers, but users in general, feel
it's something... well.. useless.

How about implementing an option so the user could set a pause time
between each track on the current playlist? It could be for instance
a numeric field, default to zero, in seconds, range 0-600s. If one defines 5s,
at the end of the current track, a silence of 5s is added, after which the
new track begins, and so on till the end of the current playlist.

If this should ever be considered for implementation, additional considerations
could be made about crossfading and auto shutdown options, to handle this
pause time option accordingly.

The purpose of this pause time would be having some rest between the audition of
the current track and the next. That is not the same as 'play one track
and pause', as seen in another players. The key point here is that the time could be
adjusted.

Thanks and keep the great work,
Bruno

I applied the patched 2.5 version, and actually I started writing this to tell you I was not finding it,
but it is really there and this is the 1st player I see
that got this option.

Maybe this is the beginning of a long marriage...  ;)

Thank you,
