Title: Deleting songs
Post by: Neurosis on July 13, 2014, 10:07:01 PM
Can I delete songs from my hard drive from inside the program? Currently the only delete function I found seems to just remove the song from MusicBee.

That's strange. You should be getting a confirmation message like this one after you press the Delete key:

Choosing the second option will send the track to the recycle bin.

Alternatively you can also use Shift +Delete to permanently delete the track.

What version are you using? I suggest you update to the latest version (http://musicbee.wikia.com/wiki/Latest_Update)

Thanks, that works. I was trying to right click and use Remove.

And I'm running 2.3, the version on the main page I think

I just updated to 2.4, is the patch on that wiki page up to date or should I just stick with the newest 2.4 build from the thread?

That patch link always links to the latest MB version (at least until the 2.5 branch starts).

if you have the prompting disabled (set in the first preferences tab) then you wont see any prompt but can permanently delete using SHIFT ddelete in that case.
