Title: Issue with last.fm plugin
Post by: psychoadept on April 03, 2014, 05:55:19 AM
I decided to try activating the last.fm plugin.  The only problem I've had is that sometimes if I try to love or ban a track, I get a message like "track not recognized" and MB will not allow the track to be loved/banned.  I'm trying to figure out why this happens.

Of course it's sometimes on tracks that have crappy tags, but it's also sometimes on tracks that are tagged clearly but are not on last.fm (such as a clip from a TV show), or on tracks that are on last.fm but are tagged differently (I had added feat. artists to some tracks that did not have them listed that way on the CD cover).  On the other hand, it handled a track composed by a friend of mine that last.fm had never encountered before without any error.  You can even see that it has one scrobble now: http://www.last.fm/music/Indriidae

Is there any way around this message?  If not, I will disable the plugin again.  I'm fine with that, it was sort of a whim anyway.  Just thought I would ask.

I disabled the plugin so that I can love and ban with impunity again, but I'm still getting an error (I restarted MB for good measure).  This seems like a bug.  Is there something else I need to do to make it stop checking last.fm?

delete lastfmconnect.dat (or something like that filename) in the AppData folder
once MB has captured your last.fm account details, it will send love toggles to the last.fm account whether scrobbling is enabled or not

Okay, that got it.  Thanks!  Maybe there should be a setting to disable the love feature, too?
