Title: HOT KEYS PLEASE
Post by: makkusu on February 26, 2012, 02:57:34 AM
Great program some things would make it sooo much better.

ctrl+n what a horrible hot key I like to use ctrl+x but for some reason it won't let me. lame~
Also playback bar should be wider. I understand aesthetics but the point of the bar is to skip ahead in music and playing "try to click the bar" when I'm trying to enjoy music is not enjoyable. (An option to make it wider would be cool).
Last thing that would make it all the more better is more customisation on a foobar level. still lots of junk on the screen and too few viewing options

That's my input.

Ctrl + X is a reserved hotkey. For cutting stuff (text, tracks etc) and cannot be changed.

The seekbar is wide enough for me. What do you mean? What resolution are you using?

About the customization thing, it would help if you were more specific. Just saying that it needs more customization won't help in my opinion

(ctrl+x) why can't cutting keys be customisable too. If some keys are customisable and some aren't doesn't that just defeat the purpose of custom keys.

As for the seek bar it is only half a mouse pointer size in any resolution so yes I think it is too small an option of increased size would be a benefit.

For customisation of layout I'm saying 6 pre-set choices could be increased to 12 or so however I did notice the chance when choosing a playlist so it's pretty good.
Could be better is all I'm saying.

i certainly will be giving low weight to your opinion using language like that

you need to be more specific about what you mean by "junk on the screen". Most of the layout can be configured in the layout preferences, including widening the progress bar so perhaps its worth spending some time familarising yourself first.
in general there is no plan to make musicbee a clone of foobar, so if you want the level of customisation foobar provides then best you use foobar for that. MusicBee is for people who want customisation but in a more straight-forward and "canned" manner.
