Title: Folder highlight disappears when track is seledted

I would like to know  how to highlight  the folder selected and keep it highlighted when I select a track to play -  at the moment  when I click on a track the folder highlight disappears so it is difficult to find the actual folder afterwoods

I think that you are going to have to post a screenshot so we can see what you are talking about here - MusicBee has too many possible views for anyone to understand your question from this description.

Sounds like an issue particular to the skin you are using.
The skin determines the colour of the selection when highlighted or in focus   and   when in lowlight or out of focus.
