Title: Icon Meaning
Post by: JCtheDJ on January 11, 2025, 05:04:38 PM

Hi, What does the "Musical note (quaver/eighth) over a file folder" icon mean? What needs to be done to eliminate that duplicate version. Thanks!

What duplicate version?

Sorry... I spent over an hour (followed "how-to" directions... I thought) trying to post a screenshot with no success. Presently I have a JPG pic of what was described, but cannot drag and drop or paste into this space.
Very frustrating!

I don't suppose it's always an easy thing for everyone. But the basic gist of it is that you have to:

- Go to an image hosting service like https://imgur.com/upload
- Upload the picture.jpg on that site
- Copy & paste the resultant weblink here so that we can view it there.    (the link will look something like this https://imgur.com/geZlOiN.png)

Otherwise, without a screenshot, it's a guessing game for us to figure out what the "duplicate version" refers to.
And with hundreds of skins out there, a "Musical note (quaver/eighth) over a file folder" icon can refer to just about anything.

Thanks for the screenshot, but can you give us one showing the entire MB window? We can't tell what panel you're seeing this in.

Also tell us what version of MB are you using and if it's the Store or Installer/Portable version.
And what skin are you using?

EDIT: Typo

Look everybody, I'll spell it all out one more time,  This pastes an image directly into your forum post like most people want to do:

1.  Go to https://imgur.com/upload (https://imgur.com/upload) , and click on "Choose Photo/Video"--browse to an image file and click OK.

2.  The picture will upload and be shown like below;  do NOT click "Copy Link," instead right-click on the picture and choose "Copy Image Link" (NOT "Copy Image") from your browser's context menu.  Now, in Firefox it says "Copy Image Link;" a slightly different wording may be used by a different browser:

3. In your forum post, click on the "Insert Image" icon, the little square above the posting box:
(https://i.imgur.com/LHvC8oD.png)---you will see a box saying "Insert image URL" after you click this button, paste the link from step #2 in it and hit OK.

4.  Hit the "Preview" button below the post and check that the image now appears inside your post (not a link, the image itself).

5.  If all is OK, continue with your post and click "Post" when finished.

Capiche?  It's NOT HARD! :o

or just use free ShareX app (both installer and portable versions available):

https://getsharex.com/downloads

hit "print screen", crop & edit screenshot if needed, upload to imgur, and copy link to clipboard (only 3 pressees on the "enter" button if you don't want to crop/edit screenshot):

Image  link was not correct - I have embedded it to make it easier to see:

Skin looks like Sky Blue.

I have to admit that I have never seen icons in that location and have not been able to replicate it - hopefully someone else can enlighten us both.

I didn't think anything could be displayed/changed in the column where the playing icon shows up no matter the skin.

I believe icons are (would get) displayed there when you have performed a search, the icons then indicating if the tracks are e.g. in the library, the Inbox, etc.
But I am not able to replicate that right now either.

Ah yes, it is following a 'Custom Search' (CTRL-F).
I've never noticed that before!

...or when you set your search to 'entire library'.

And so to the original question:
The icons are shown here following a search and identify the location of the track:

The folder plus note is shown when the track is found in the inbox.
The play icon (?) is shown when the track is found in audiobooks.
The musical note is shown when the track is found in the music library.
(The icons are specific to the skin used).

Presumably you have two copies of 'Wishin' and Hopin'' - one in your Music library and one in the Inbox.
