Hi,
In the album & tracks view, when displaying the tracks under the album, the columns do not take the whole space
The following image illustrate the current behaviour vs what I would expect.

This happens even when selecting only one column:

I'd reported a related issue too: https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=38499.0

Bump
This is still happening with the latest version. :'(
-
I also use the latest version of MB and would also be very interested if this was adapted.

I am using 3.6.9052 P
if you arent using a custom view, can you send a link to your settings file (help/support/view settings)

I am using a custom view, but I am linking the settings file after switching to the default Album Covers view

all the tabs in the settings file you sent have a custom view and when i switch to "Album Covers" its not configured to open the tracks like your screenshot.
I havent been able to reproduce the behaviour you describe and not willing to spend more time on this

I didn't realize it would include all the stuff I had in my library.
I went back and installed a clean portable version and reexported the settings: https://pastebin.com/ds60QnLi
For this, I added a new album, switched to the view Album Covers, and in the setting: "show the tracks for the selected album or artist" -> "directly under the selected album or artist" -> "restrict number of columns displayed" -> 1

I hope this helps

"restrict number of columns displayed" -> 1
If you set the number of columns to two (or three) does that take care of the issue?

With two columns not really.
The second column uses up some of the space, but there still is empty space on the right. It's as the columns are left aligned.
With three columns the space is used at its fullest, but the title names are cropped, as I would expect (Like this -> This is a titl...)

I can also understand exactly this behavior!
Is it perhaps dependent on the screen resolution set?
Mine is currently 1920x1080.
It also seems to depend on the width of the left sidebar and the width of the main panel!

Would this be something that could be fixed with a plugin / skin modification?
It annoys me enough that I could try to dev a plugin for it.
-
Skins are cosmetic only and have no functionality.
As for a plugin, maybe but not likely. You'd have to see what's available in the API, which I know nothing about.

If you ever come back to this:
The last version where this was working is: 3.5.8249 P
The first version where this was not working anymore is: 3.5.8296 P
I don't know if this helps
