Title: Create a playlist using Acoustic Finger Print of a song in your library as a see
Post by: bweatherell on July 04, 2024, 06:33:38 PM
Paraphrasing a quote from a Stack Overflow forum post to describe the request:

"Only one application has ever done this really well that I know of - .MusicIP mixer. http://www.spicefly.com/article.php?page=musicip-software

It hasn't been updated for about ten years (and even then the interface was a bit clunky), it requires a very old version of Java, and doesn't work with all file formats - but it was and still is cross-platform and free.

It uses the acoustic fingerprints for every mp3/ogg/flac/m3u in your collection saved as a tag on the song, and given one or more songs, generates a playlist similar to those songs.

It only uses the acoustics of the songs, but has other parameters to control the scope of the similarity matching"

I'd love to see this feature.
I've been using Bliss on my Daphile build (https://forums.slimdevices.com/forum/user-forums/3rd-party-software/112864-announce-bliss-dstm-mixer)
Works pretty well. Uses an external prog. to create a SQL database that it generates playlists from. Better than the LastFM similar tracks feature of AutoDJ, IMO
Dunno if it's possible to port over to Musicbee, but I imagine it'd be more suitable to do it as a plugin than natively
