Title: improved sorting logic in main panel
Post by: Debby747 on August 10, 2009, 02:29:28 PM
Hello Steven,

For the time being, it is not possible to sort entries in the main panel after different criteria simultaneously (it seems).

For example, one can sort either "by year" or "by artist".
But it would make a lot sense to improve the sorting logic, so that MusicBee can sort both accordingly.

now:                                    improved behaviour:

1970  |  Artist A                    1970  |  Artist A
1971  |  Band B                     1972  |  Artist A
1972  |  Artist A                    1971  |  Band B

Of course it should not be limited to only these two fields, but it would be a great start.

I see that there is already some kind of logic/priority sorting going on, but it seems centred around "album name" instead of year?
I'm not sure.

But there you are, please consider improving on the sorting dependencies.

Thank you very much.
D.

multiple column sorting is already supported - if i understand you correctly, all you need to do is click on year and then hold the ctrl key down and click artist (and any other fields as well as long as you keep the ctrl key down)
Title: SOLVED - by ctrl clicking columns

Hi Steven,

Thanks for your fast reply and instructions.
I am astonished how you manage to so artistically hide such features  :D

Very cute little numbers  ;D

Alright, I think it's a nice implementation.

Have a great day,
D.
