Title: Strange progress bar bug with some skins recently
Post by: RyhanZFX on February 12, 2024, 01:39:00 PM
There some janky issue with certain skins just recently about 2 days ago that some skins suffer from clicking on progress bar, happens on default skin too, i cant click it, the progress timebar seems to be refreshing all the time when clicking it, and you need to click fast enough to be even responsive for it to change.

I dont know what caused it, it works fine before and i already tried reinstalling it and doesnt help

Have you tried with other tracks? Might be unrelated but that's happened to me with corrupted files.

Thank you for your reply. My 3 players are MB, MM and Creative. All tracks MM and Creative are the same volume. I have used a single track as test. (The 4th Player is Windows Media Player 10 - not good).
Is this a volume levelling issue?

Your post is a little confusing.

Are you talking about clicking on the progress bar not moving to the location clicked on?
Or are you talking about volume leveling and if so, how does that relate to the progress bar?

My post is about playback volume. I don't click anything during playback. I have, now, 2 test tracks for playback. Why should the volume change player to player or within MB?

You're making things even more confusing for me. And perhaps others.

You're not the person who started this thread. Or are you? If so, why are you using a different name?

In the first post under the name "PaulRJ" you start off with "Thank you for your reply." But you hadn't posted anything prior to this in this thread. Did you perhaps post your original issue in a different thread and you're answering it here???

I need an adult beverage right now.

Hello sorry for confusion, im the OP, maybe others had the same issue, i dont think the mp3 files are corrupted if i remember it, only that i do update some songs metadata but it was a long time ago, though this affects every song and its recent, so i dont know whats the problem or causing it because it used to work fine and on skins that arent effected the progress bar works usual without refreshing

Yes im talking the progress bar not moving as expected to the time in the bar because it kept refreshing, and i cant click it unless i click fast enough, im not sure from what i can tell with other volume options that is causing it unless im missing something

if you are not using the Store version, update to the latest patch which i am pretty sure will fix the issue
https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee35_Patched.zip
unzip and replace the existing musicbee application files

what version does Help/ About say?

also what font are you using in MB and what is the screen dpi scale in the windows display settings?

edit:
i think the problem is the tooltip is unusually large and overlaps with the cursor. Do you know why eg. is it some sort of windows customisation or perhaps a dev version of windows?

Hello, sorry for  the late reply, the version in the about say 3.5.8800, i do change the dpi scale whenever i connect my laptop to second monitor to about 120 to 150 scale, and yes since you asked i do use some windows customized programs like ExplorerPatcher but only for start menu and i cant remember if theres a windows update when this is starting to happen but my build is standard build 23H2 22631.3155 recently updated again, not dev  or canary

I don't know if this is the right place to report this, but if it isn't, please help me to put it in the right place or move it is possible.

The recent and latest versions of MusicBee have a bad looking FF icon in the Bee78 dark skin, as it can be seen in this image link:

Not a big deal, as it works fine, but it's disturbing to see it like this.

Thanks for any help to fix it in new version.

Please post your issue on the thread for the skin involved. That way the skin developer has a better chance of seeing it and responding.

@ Caveat
It's an error in the .svg icon that I used that only came to light with some of the high DPI changes Steven has made.
I'm currently working on a replacement version of Bee78 for MusicBee3.6 that will fix this.

Bumping for @Steven's visibility, as this appears to be unresolved.
