Title: Time is not displayed for mkv files
Post by: jonap on September 30, 2022, 06:24:50 PM
Don't know if it's a bug or intented, and I know video files are not the main purpose of MusicBee

Anyway, in track details view, the duration of mkv files is not displayed, while it works fine for mp4 files

sure, here is a .mkv file

PS: just looked and actually it's not displayed for either mkv, wmv, avi and mov files
I suspect it actually only works with mp4

For files that MB doesnt natively support, it relies on the bass library to get duration. However, it looks like it also doesnt support .mkv files.
So this issue will remain unsolved

I use an alternate field for the films :

...

... but for series it's not great !

...

too bad the bass library doesn't catch it

Anyway this application is great
Congrats for the good work Steven

Why flog a dead horse?
It's a very old topic and the developer has given his response.
