Title: sync music files from sd card to sd card
Post by: Jimod on December 29, 2019, 08:42:32 PM
I have extended my music library over a number of sd cards and Flash drives f- not much space on my surface go tablet.
Those drives appear as virtual devices on MB.
I now want to sync some or all of that library to an SD card for use on my Android phone.
The mobile sd card will presumably appear as yet another virtual device to MB.
Is it possible to sync folders from the existing drives to the new one?

Are the tracks from the storage devices showing up in your musicbee library? And are you able to have them connected to the tablet at the same time as the sd card for the phone? If so, you should be able to sync tracks to the sd card just fine.

You might find it easier to set up wifi sync to the phone, so you don't have to worry about connecting the sd card by itself.

Hi and thanks for your response.
Yes, all the files are known to MB - the MB library references them.
Yes, I can attach the mobile sd card  so they can all be available at the same time.
I had seen elsewhere that there needed to be a wired sync prior to WiFi.
So, my assumption was that I should attach the mobile sd card and sync to that first - that would place all the files there.
Then later use wifi for future incremental sync operations.

You don't need to do an actual wired sync first. All you need to do first is a wired -preview.- Once the preview is complete you can do WiFi syncs.
