This is a very early attempt at creating a bitmap skin using the original Honeycomb as a base, and I will inevitably make improvements as and when I have the time.

Any ideas/criticisms are welcome. Hope you all enjoy it.

To use, simply place the .xmlc files into the [location of installation]\MusicBee\Skins\Dark\ folder, then select the skin of your choosing within the View|Skins menu in MusicBee.

Note: The MusicBee version required for these skins to work has not been officially released, so use the non-bitmap version if you are unwilling to use the latest beta.

Update

I have updated the links to include:

- New 'delete' icon (in status bar)
- Changed colour of the lines under the artist names in 'Album and tracks' view
- Changed colour of text in the right sidebar header

Thanks to Steven for making the new elements to support these fixes :)

Update

The links have been updated to include:

-New minimise/maximise/close buttons with 'golden' highlight colours (available from version 1.2.4052 - available in Rotem K.'s 'Pop Pink' skin thread)

Again, a special thanks to Rotem K for allowing me to use his 'indented' style buttons, and to Steven for making highlighted buttons available

-New delete button

-Slightly altered splashscreen (transparent corners)

-Fixed the Mini player's nowplaying list icons

-A few other misc fixes

Update

I have updated the links to include fixes for a couple bugs that Steven and Rotem brought to my attention (thanks again)

- Disabled control buttons in the Mini Player have been corrected (the buttons were grey before)

- The Love icon in the Mini Player has been adjusted to be in line with the stars

- The default love icon in the main player has been adjusted to be the same colour as the stars

- In the edit menu is docked in the main panel, the highlighted tab colour has been altered - and consequently so has the 'playing track/selected track' bar in the right hand dock.

I know this may sound like a stupid question.. did you try restarting MB? Do normal .xml skins show up? (try copying and renaming any .xml skin and see if it appears in the skin menu)

They show up fine, even after renaming

Do your skins work for you? I assume Yes considering the fact you are trying to help me  :P

ah ha, If you right click on the skin file in windows explorer, properties, then click unblock, does it work for you then?

Using Windows xp in explorer there's no such option. If I understand right then that's not the problem, Unlocker shows "no locking handle found"

hmm, this is a strange one. The skins show up and work fine for me, even when I redownload them from the same location. Can you confirm the extension is .xmlc?

I just tried it on a different PC (completely new install of MB) and it also works with the downloaded skins. I'm sorry I couldn't get it working for you, but I've let Steven know, so it shouldn't be too long ;)

i also prefer the lighter one and really like the way you have done the play buttons on the left side. I do think though that the right side has a little too much space (I guess you are making it equal to the left side so the info panel is exactly centered?) and perhaps the right side buttons could be wider (and maybe the very left player button). Also on the right side are the images inside the buttons centered vertically? - they looked off slightly up.

I really like the "open" effect of the dark version achieved by omitting the box around the timeline. It gives the skin a really modern look. Nice Colors, Nice Job!!! Long lives the MusicBee!!!

This is great, thanks for releasing it. Personally I'm not too keen on the increase in size of the bottom bar so I will probably carry on using the original or Dark but thanks again anyway.

I've elongated the track detail bar in order to remove some of the space on the right. Do you prefer this? Or does it look better centered?

I've taken off 18 pixels from the bottom bar in both versions. I do agree, it did take up too much room. What do you think?

Hi there Blinghound,

I am using and enjoying your skin, thanks...

I was trying to add a folder to the library and could not with success, because apparently there is a little box which has to be ticked before you say OK to add a folder to the library... well that little box is invisible using Honeycomb.

I am now adding a huge folder to my library, so when it is done I will do a screen grab for you, but it is definitely not visible (certainly to me, on my computer ;)
