Hello,
My music library contain two artists with the same name - John Williams. One is a composer and the other is a guitar player. Both of them are displayed under the same artist in MB. Please see the screenshot below. These albums doesn't belong to the same artist.
Is there any way to separate them?

The only direct way I know of would be to give them slightly different names, like "John Williams (composer)" vs "John Williams (guitarist)". But I know that's not ideal, especially if you need compatibility for scrobbling or something.
If you have the Musicbrainz ids, those will be different and you might be able to make use of them in some ways. Maybe you could make a virtual tag to use in place of Artist l

I use the Artist tag for performers.
In case of John Williams (composer) I would put him in the composer tag.
-
also you could try to use different sort-artist tags, but the same artist tags.

I was hoping this would work with the new sorting tags database but, unfortunately, MB justs tells you there is inconsistencies in the database and still puts all the artists/album artists with same name together :(

maybe you could use full name for now
"John Christopher Williams" = guitarist
"John Towner Williams = composer

but unfortunately it doesn't work for
The Angels (American 60's girl group / Australian hard rock band)
Jigsaw (UK 70's pop group / Australian 70's pop group)

how about setting country tag or just
"Jigsaw UK" "Jigsaw AU" and "The Angels US" "The Angels AU" maybe

there is a request now on wishlist board for custom definition of what is artist (like how we can define what is album).
