Hello,
I've installed MB because of it's customization options. I've noticed the sound quality is not as good as Aimp or Winamp in terms of depth, detail and smoothness. What can I do to improve it and match to the players I mention ? I've already tweaked the Equalizer and DSP.
Also, does the program has IRC existence ? searched for a channel on Freenode, no success :(

I don't use any, but I seem to recall that WinAmp -output- plugins work with MB. Search the forum for details.

No IRC. A Twitter feed exists for new version announcements only.

Never heard of such a claim. Are you sure you're not comparing apples and oranges? They all, without tweaking/enhancing, should sound pretty much the same.
Does foobar2000 sound better than other players?
No. Most of “sound quality differences” people “hear” are placebo effect (at least with real music), as actual differences in produced sound data are below their noise floor (1 or 2 last bits in 16bit samples).

Yeah, not gonna use anything without tweaking so I guess that's where the difference is, though not complaining. Cheers! to the dev's for doing a wonderful job. Now the obvious question is how can I make it to sound better ? I tried VST plugins that I use to use with Audacity but they aren't showing in the Preferences->Plugins. VST plugin (mb_VST.dll) is installed okey and plugins are installed in the directory recommended by MB (C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Vst Plugins), any ideas how can I configure them ?

Thanks redwing. Now It's got the sound quality to kill for :P though there's one issue, the clipping reduction plugin I'm using is taking up way too much resources (28% of the CPU and 200 Mb's of physical memory) it's working for now but I can't continue using it. Can anyone recommend me a plugin that takes less resources ? and preferably free :P
On another note, developers should take a note at the difference of the quality of sound VST plugin's have produced. Shouldn't this functionality/quality be native to the program? especially noise/distortion issue needs to be addressed with great priority in my opinion.
