An enhanced version of MusicBee's default Genre hierarchy list. IMPORTANT: Only for MusicBee 3.4 beta, which is currently in testing phase and not officially released.
Needs MusicBee 3.4 or upward.
This is a genre hierarchy list that can be added to MusicBee as a replacement for the genre hierarchy that comes included with it.
It has the same basic concept and idea, which is:
It contains all genres, and all variations on their names as are present in the genre databases of MusicBrainz and Discogs.
That means that if you use MusicBee's auto-tag function, or other tagging software such as Picard or mp3tag, those genres will be matched and categorised.
There are two differences:
MusicBee's default genre hierarchy list has a two-level hierarchy.
That makes it easy to navigate and see all music in a selected main category without the need to consider deeper navigation or possibly arbitrary-considered subdivisions.
This enhanced version has 2nd and 3rd level subdivisions for most main genres.
For this enhanced version I will not keep the genres limited to what is on MusicBrainz and Discogs, but I will be adding new sensible and useful genres and possibly new categories.
This tag hierarchy feature is only available since MusicBee 3.4 or newer.
Please update if you are using an older version.
