Suggestions for improving search

Here are my ideas about small rebuild of search window. As for me this is the crucial MB's functionality and interface element and right now I have a feeling as if it was marginalised a bit. The ideas are presented on this graphic:

+1 particularly for moving search to the left.  I always find it too far away at the top right.  I don't use many tabs, and always preferred putting it before the tabs, when that was an option.  For a setup like yours, obviously they would be on separate lines.

The location you show, at the top of the left navigator, could easily be hidden, though.  I wonder if it could go somewhere at the top or bottom of the main panel?
