what is the best way to add manage Various Artists Music Collections ?
 my music is like this
"D:Various Artists/" inside this folder its like this
Future Trance/
Dream Dance/
Tunnel Trance Force/
101 Collection/
70's Compilations/
80's Compilations/

so inside its like this

Future Trance/ vol 1/cd1/cd2
and so on
so is there a way to add say

101 Collection/
and see it as a Collection of albums

something like add folder as Collection ?

try to use 'infer tags from file name' command. you can import collection folder name to 'grouping' tag or some custom tag.

If you mean pre-packaged VA sets, you can follow the guide here and set up box sets to look something like this:

I  think I'm  starting to see how Musicbee works  ... you can make a filter on just about anything .. and then you change the look and feel of that ant filter to what every you like  ... have I got that right ?

I have 100's Various Artists albums...  it's one thing i  struggle
with .... in albums cover view and click Various Artists it's  just a big dump  of anything .... can the  Various Artists be sorted  or grouped ? independently

ok  almost there here is what i did ?

make a new filter  like this

album Artist is  Various  Artists
then group by genre

now i get 70's Compilation and 80's Compilation and so on .... one more thing ..  i would like to  see only one  cover for each  genre until you click it  ... can this be done ?

edit I also played with adding a comment to the  comment field  and add it to filter  eg 80's Collection ... i  dont know if this is the best way to do this... but it seen to work ...

its just the view i would like now .... if anyone have a  better way to do this please let me know ...
